I always wanted to try this place out. Well, yesterday, my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary, but due to the cold weather we decided not to go out; instead, we agreed on ordering carry out. We ordered ribs, soup, and different sides; our food was fresh, well-cooked, and delicious!!! Also, our order was well packed and prepared. I highly recommend GSIC.

Nice interior design, Ribs are okay but Greek pasta was without any flavor after our comment they took it and brought more expansive dish Rigatoni which was better but also not the best. The waiter was nice and helpful but at the end we paid $100 for 2 for food that wasn’t worth it.Good spot for having drink with friends but they need to work on food.

There’s a reason this is a neighborhood classic and Chicago native classic for ribs on the Northwest side spanning a few decades! It’s a limited but traditional menu of ribs, steaks, fish and some appetizers and pasta entrees. I highly recommend trying the ribs when there. However all the appetizers looked really good too! Server was thorough and very professional. This is a nice experience of fine dining and spending a good buck to get a quality meal. The ambience is classy and feels almost like you walked into the past with the wood work, classic wood bar, dark lighting.. we enjoyed it!Dietary restrictions: Waitress asked immediately about dietary restrictions or allergies. They are very accommodating

Ribs here are my go to meal always. Get them charred thank me later. That's usually all I order when I come but soups and salads are nice and fresh. You can dine in or carry out.

Always fun ! Love the ribs and bar and vibe is friendly and fun . Stay with the ribs or burger . I tried the Greek noodles and bit dry and tasteless . Going back to my ribs !!!!

As always the ribs were fantastic. I also had a cup of their gumbo which is the best I have had. I liked it so much I took a quart to go. George really cares about his customers. He walks thru and takes a moment to chat with all of them whether he knows them or not. The kind of service that is lacking in so many places these days. I will forever be a customer here.

Can’t say enough good things about the Gale Street Inn. The food was fantastic, especially the lightly fried calamari with an amazing giardiniera infused marinara. The gumbo and jambalaya were fantastic, and the ribs at GSI have always stood above the rest. Love the new vibe and live music, not too loud so great for conversation. All the servers and bartenders are super friendly, especially Denise and Madison who took great care of us. And of course, George is the quintessential host always making you feel welcome, even comping a drink or appetizer if there’s a delay. Love this place and can’t wait to go back!

Great place as always! Come check out the updated dining area, now with a small stage for live music. A NW side pillar of dining.

I walked in Gales st. Inn on Saturday to sit down and eat dinner with my husband and our 3 year old daughter at about 6:15and I was turned away by this man at the front desk, because we had our daughter with us. At first when I walked in, I asked for a table for 3 and he said let me go check, he came back 10 minutes later and ask me what I was waiting on and I said, you said you were going to check availability for me for seating and he said, oh yeah ok “let’s get foreal now”and he went to check again because apparently he forgot the first time but as he was walking away to check, he said 3 right and I said yes 2 and a high chair and then he looked “annoyed or confused “ I wanna say and then said how old is your child and I said 3 and he said, no that’s not gonna work right now it’s not a kid friendly environment, for us to come back on another day and “he would take care of me”. It was just a bad experience. I felt discriminated against. He literally did not want us to eat there. I have 4 daughters and never in my lifetime have I experienced anything like this! I have ate at gales st inn several times in the past with my kids and I have pictures eating there! I just feel like He was very rude and unprofessional. Also- At that time there was in a kid in the dining area eating! Me and my parents/grandparents have been eating here for quite some year’s, even before they remodeled and after telling my family how we were treated- we all agreed that we will no longer eat here! Sad that we couldn’t sit down and have dinner because they were not “kid friendly” because the food is good.
