Popped into here for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Large, quiet interior, decent sized bar and very clean. Service was great, as there weren't many people. Started with the chicken gyoza, spicy garlic edamame, and soup dumplings. Soup dumplings stole the show, tasted fresh, steamed well, broth was impeccable. I got the sexy Mexican roll, which was shrimp, spicy crab, jalapeño, topped with avocado and sriracha. Crab and shrimp was fresh, raw jalapeño was a great kick and the avocado was refreshing. Would definitely come back next time I'm in Chicago.

Niu is one of my favorite sushi spots in Chicago - the quality of the fish is superb, the rice is perfectly seasoned, and portions sizes are perfect! My favs at Niu include the rainbow roll, spice girl, and una. But don’t forget to also get nigiri to truly appreciate the fresh fish, particularly the otoro, amaebi, and hamachi. Service is consistently top notch and I never feel rushed. Atmosphere is sleek and seating is comfortable. Great sushi, kind service, reasonable prices - what’s not to love?

Pretty nice place with a sophisticated interior. Sushi was just delicious and melted in the mouth. But the wait time was not great and the place was not that busy. Food was coming randomly not depending on what we requested appetizers first and sushi dinner after. And cherry on the top was a frozen matcha cake for a dessert. How come?! And the most upsetting thing was the waiter who didn’t even apologize, even it wasn’t his fault.

We got the mellow yellow roll (L), Tuna Poke Roll (R), a spicy tuna hand roll (not pictured) and the salted caramel crunch cake. Sushi was really good and enjoyed that they use less rice than what I’m use to in MN. Wasn’t a fan of dessert. It didn’t taste freshly made and the caramel tasted like fake candy caramel. Server was great and so friendly. Was quite busy so he wasn’t able to tend to us as much as we would like but understood with how busy it was. We did get sat at a pretty small table by the bar which was a little frustrating having to be extra cautious fitting everything on table and not knocking anything on the floor.

Overall, it was ok. Atmosphere was good but the food was mid. I had sushi roll and I liked it but soup dumpling was so disappointing. I don't recommend cocktails at all.

We came on a Monday night during dinner rush. It wasn’t a super busy and we got sat right away without a reservation. However, service was super slow, like 15 minutes for the server to even come over the first time. And over 20 more minutes for the first food or drinks to come out.The restaurant was too dark to be “moody” and more of an inconvenience. It even got darker as we were about to leave. Darker than a bar!The calamari was cold and not flavorful. The yakisoba was bland, except for the shrimp which were pretty good! The sashimi was way too thick, and the pepper salmon had a weird texture and overpowering flavor. The drinks were really weak. So, very overpriced for quality.

I enjoyed a little quiet time alone at the bar. The "yellow mellow" sushi roll I ordered was bigger than I anticipated, which delighted me for the $15 price. I also tried spinach Ohitashi (daring choice for me) and enjoyed it.The photo was after I had begun eating, so the roll appears a little shorter.

First time here, my boyfriend and i celebrated our anniversary. Loved the atmosphere and service. We ordered cucumber cloudy cocktails which were good and refreshing. We also had 3 rolls: spice girl 10/10 (not spicy), sexy Mexican 7/10 it was a little mushy (not spicy) and the rock & roll (9/10) a little sweet but overall good! We also had the calamari and crab wontons which are to die for!! Spent about $150 including tip. We will be back to try other foods on menu!

Their sushi rolls are fresh and fabulous. I loved the red dragon roll and takoyaki. My better half liked Godzilla roll. Overall amazing sushi place and I’d love to try more of their Menu items.

The food was delicious. The chocolate cake was so worth it, it was not too sweet and it had crackles in every bite kinda like pop rocks. It's a bit pricy but they give you a decent portion. We wanted to try this place for a birthday and we had a good time. We walked there but I think I saw pay parking within a 4 minute walk.
