So I used to dine here in the 1990's-2000's once a week for either a breakfast sandwich to go, or breakfast or lunch at the counter. After they expanded it lost some of its old school diner charm and I only ate there sporadically; occasionally I'd take the family there on a Saturday for breakfast. Fortunately a few weeks back I was off work and downtown taking care of some miscellaneous things and decided to go see George (the owner George Lemperis). He was as loud and gregarious as I recalled, and the food WAY TOO MUCH for one person to eat, just as I recalled. I heard they recently had a fire, but I for one am putting Palace Grill back atop my "Diners" list when they reopen and will return to being a regular.

Came here for my last breakfast meal and it did not disappoint!Once you're seen you're able to choose wherever you'd like to sit. They're quick to check on you and I put in my order as I came in during the last hour they were open. Even though there were lots of people count through to eat.The omelette was packed with potatoes and sausage and the hash browns were cooked to a nice yummy crisp.Staff was all very kind and it was really cool to see all the memorabilia all around of the hawks!!Nice place that I'd definitely come back to!

Extensive damage from a fire on 2-9-2024. Closure will hopefully be temporary, but will definitely take some time.

Great place to view Blackhawks memobilia. Food was also good.
We wanted to try someplace fun for breakfast and after seeing pictures of this place we knew exactly where to go. The food is your typical diner food but the vibe felt so fun and retro. The walls are decked out in Blackhawks memorabilia and there is an open kitchen behind the bar. Per our waitress's recommendation, I did a create your own omelette with chicken sausage, mozzarella cheese, salsa, and spinach with a side of fruit and rye bread. The omlette was huge and very filling. My only complaint is that is it a bit cramped inside which means it's also pretty loud and hard to carry on a conversation.

Longstanding diner/grill, revitalized by the now-upscale neighborhood. Comfort food, good coffee.Parking: Lot can fill during busy times, and spaces are tightly spaced. But FREE!

I bought 2 cornbeef sandwiches - toasted white bread (yuk) - meat was old and I was charged $27 and some change. Worse food ever!!!!! Plus couldn’t complain and wasn’t given a receipt. WORSE EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE.
