my favorite is ox tail phở, only available on the weekends. the noodles are wide, just like how i ate in Saigon growing up. most of the Viet restaurants in the US use the thin noodles (to me that’s hủ tiếu).the choice here is limited, no combination phở with tripe. no poached egg add on. but that’s not a big deal to me, still my favorite phở in Chicago.ps. thank you for the drinks, coffee and all the tea/soda :)

This place is a decent take out operation though I'm not sure how I will crave coming back in the future. I got a Viet Dip and it was pretty solid. Having the jus was a fun and flavorful addition to a traditional banh mi. However, the bread on this fell short of what I expect out of a banh mi.

As a vietnamese, food was okay. Pho was flavorless.. Flank was not good. Meatballs were good though. Egg rolls are okay. Spam & Rice is pretty good. Service was great. Overall, I wouldn’t come back.

Great place for Pho. Took my niece specifically for Pho and had to convince her to order. Happy she did. All the apps were fresh and delicious. The decor was absolutely bomb. Love the pictures on the wall and all the art. Can't wait to get back there.Vegetarian options: Veggie Pho

We ordered delivery through the Phodega website, thinking this is the restaurant’s preference and they get to keep a bigger cut. The order was “delivered” to a random door on the side of our building. When I saw the status that it had been delivered, I checked by our unit door and it was not there, and even went out to the main entrance and it was not there. A kind neighbor saw it outside by a side door and brought it up for us, which was so kind and we are lucky. I tried calling the restaurant and their phone number does not work. The delivery platform does not have any form of support or any way to contact the delivery driver. There was also no way to add delivery instructions. Our order was missing the egg rolls altogether, but there’s no way to contact the restaurant for a resolution. The pho broth lacked depth of flavor. Overall disappointing and we won’t be repurchasing. Image attached is the “proof of delivery.”

This review is strictly based off hainan chicken rice only and comparing it with authentic ones in Singapore!Chicken - overcooked, but generous portion and bonelessRice - 8.5/10! I enjoyed it by itself.Chili sauce - 10/10 not too spicy and the taste/texture is perfectSoup - the onion is overpowering and it is pretty saltyI also loved that it came with dark soy sauce. Ive tried a few hainan chicken rice in IL and they offered light soy sauce instead and some even came with a totally different type of chili sauce than expected. Eg HD Cuisine, Malaysian Penang, Asian Noodle House, basement of chinatown (all these have god awful hainan chicken rice)

Attempted to make me scan an unsecured QR code to order. The food quality doesn't matter because it will never be worth my phone getting hacked.

Love the concept of the place. The pho has pretty weak broth. I love the ribeye in the pho, not a fan of the the brisket because it has distinct taste.Over all it’s worth trying. The chicken skin was really crispy, would love more pepper taste than just salt.

The appetizers were better than the main dishes. Though I love hip hop, the music choice was vulgar and unfitting for an establishment , it was blasting in the restaurant way too loud. The negative energy must have entered the food bc everything was bland, and the beef and noodles in the pho were over cooked, the noodles were all stuck together and broth was watered down.I believe this place had better days when the owners are present. Everything felt like it lacked love.

Super cool place. It's a part-Vietnamese restaurant and part-convenience store with Asian snacks. It's in a pretty hip neighborhood. The pho broth was decent but wasn't as flavorful as other pho broths I've had. Still tasty. The thing I liked is that they used slightly thicker pho noodles. The salt & pepper fried chicken skin was a little bland, but fried perfectly. It went well with the hot sauce. My favorite dish was the Hainan chicken. It was poached to perfection and tasted delicious with the 3 sauces. The rice was addicting and the side soup made sure things weren't too dry. 4/5 for food, service, and environment.
