Fantastic bar, I typically go there to do a bit of idling (and pre-partying) before I go to Smartbar nearby, excellent beer selection, same with the liquor selection, the atmosphere is lovely and the backroom has lovely events (like just now with this DJ set). Would recommend coming here if you're like me, waiting for either Metro or Smartbar to open up (especially as it's getting colder outside!).
The folks that work here are truly wonderful. They create a welcoming, safe, and fun vibe regardless of whether there is one other person or fifty other people at the bar. I can't recommend Gman Tavern enough!

Oh yeah, she worked at Wax Trax, became a criminal defense attorney, and married a rock star. Great read for everyone who grew up in Chicago and experienced the punk rock years and beyond on the local music scene.
