Seafood stuffed red snapper was phenomenal. My husband said that his pizza may very well be the best he's ever had. We are from Freeport, but we will be driving to Rockford just to eat at John's.”

“If you want a delicious fish fry, Chana Tap is your place!! They have a 1 or 2 piece catfish or haddock dinner to choose from on Friday nights. You also can order from their menu. I would advise arriving early as they are typically crowded from late afternoon through the entire dinner hour. Their fish fry is one of the best in Ogle County! Our waitress was extremely friendly and patient!! Their atmosphere could use some upgrades.”

“These are some fine folks! Excellent food, top notch service. Kind of like a “Cheers” spot for us in that they know your name and what you drink and are always on their game! The servers work very hard and the cooks are excellent. Owner is very approachable and a good guy. Get on their text list so you know when the smoked corned beef reubens are available! “So the first time I was there was amazing, today I went in and asked what came in a wrap and Jolie the bartender who didn’t even say hi just slapped napkins on the bar as asked what she could get us, when asked what was in a certain wrap, said I don’t know I don’t sell those… I myself walked back by the bathroom to ask the cook what was in it. She was less than unpersonable and only cared about her phone that was “hidden” under the bar. We were a three top and had to ask for our check…….I work in the service industry and we left strictly because of her mood and service.”

“Found this lil restaurant by accident, and we were so fortunate!!! The atmosphere is great and the food is amazing. We asked our server Yasmine what she recommended and we followed her advice. I had the “Chicago Sandwich (i think)” while my wife had the Lasagna. Both were over the top great and highly recommend these to anyone, side note- she was super friendly and excellent in service.”
