“We have had many great meals at The Grove. Today we had stopped in for brunch and it was amazing. We ordered the Chicken and Waffles and Smashed biscuits and Gravy, both were delicious! The menu is not your average eggs, meat and toast selections, but a wonderfully curated variety of specialty brunch items. We highly recommend The Grove for brunch, lunch, dinner or just cocktails!”

“First experience with this establishment was delivering their order of groceries from Uber … I was quite surprised how clean and kept up the place looks… besides gaming there is a pool table and a dart board that’s separate from the gaming area… complete full bar… and they specialize in a variety of Rum Buckets… I thought this place had a vibe that most bars lack these days… I took the initiative and asked if they were hiring… luck was on my side and I was offered a job… management takes pride in making sure the atmosphere is comfortable for all patrons as well as his employees here, Charley’s and Shelly’s of Sycamore ..thankful everyday of being part of this family”

“We traveled from out of town and was looking for somewhere to get pizza to enjoy at the hotel room and most definitely made the right choice with Vinnys. Not only was the pizza delicious but the garlic cheese bread was too! Definitely going to have to have it again next time we are in town :)”

“I was looking for a place to eat on my first day at NIU, noticed this place on google maps. I wasn't sure what to get, so the chef recommended me a shawarma wrap, and let me tell you it was worth it. They also accept husky bucks, so if you are a student that wants to try something new, this is the place.

Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp leading directly off of the pavement next to their shop, and they have a grouping of shorter tables that would be easy to eat at with a wheelchair. There is also ample room to maneuver around in a wheelchair or any other related mobility device. The front door is manual however, so you might have difficulty with it.”

“My husband and I celebrated our reception here. Everything was fantastic! The coordinator Jennifer had everything prepared exactly as discussed from tables, lighting, and decorations. “I just tried Pizza Villa for the first time in years. Absolutely outstanding. If you’re tired of the thin “cracker” crust that everyone serves around here, try Pizza Villa! And they even cut it in triangles, the way a pizza pie should be cut!”

“I was visiting here in DeKalb taking my cats to tails for surgeries and I stopped by here to get some food. I got the Mayan chicken which OMG it is so savory!!! Love the mix of vegetables, sauce and seasonings of the chicken!!”

“I love Chinese and can tell good from bad places! I really liked my General Taos chicken dish here. Flavor was good, fried rice was average, and crab rangoons were very greasy and dripping with grease and crisp unlike flaky crab rangoons that I'm used to eating. My family got Mongolian beef which they said the meat was tough. Crab rangoons were brought out first without napkins and since so greasy had to go wait for them to be done cooking to get napkins because they don't have any out, or on tables. The atmosphere was drab and dreary. Chairs and tables moved to one side of restaurant making it look cluttered and out of business. Since students are on summer break I guess their slow but they should keep the restaurant up. Stopped here for lunch before touring the Ellwood House due to good reviews.”

“The bagel was really good. I got the Monte Cristo on an Asiago bagel. I recommend if the sweet and savory combo is your jam (pun intended haha). It comes with smoked turkey, cheese, butter and raspberry jam.
The service was good. For only two workers they managed the line really well.
Cleanliness leaves something to desire. The self service coffee bar looked like it has not been cleaned in a while. Also the bagel case looks like it needs a good vacuuming out. The pile of bagel crumbs looks caked on the bottom.”

“Taki catered a magnificent Easter spread for us. Just look at those trays! Kabobs of pork, chicken, steak and veggies plus a tray of gluten-free bread and a big side of tzatziki sauce. Truly one of the tastiest Easter dinners we’ve ever had and the only finger we had to lift was to carry the trays. Need tasty catering? Taki’s got you covered!”

“This is a small, clean spot just outside the downtown area with excellent service. They offer complimentary chips and salsa, which were delicious, and I always enjoy the guacamole on the side. The portions are generous, making it a great value — the food delivers both on taste and quantity. For dessert, the fresh strawberries layered with creamy goodness were light, sweet, and perfectly refreshing, a great way to satisfy a sweet craving. The staff is polite and attentive, and it’s easy to see why many consider this one of the best Mexican restaurants in DeKalb. Definitely will be back!”

“I've been to this chain before at other cities. And I like it. They have a lot more additives now than used to be. You get you take some time to look at the menu because you can do quite a bit with the different drinks. A small is plenty I think. I got the strawberry banana and then was a stevia to cut down on the added sugar. I can come here every week in the summer. It is really good. I had the angel food smoothie”

“If you aren’t getting the teriyaki chicken on a stick with crab rangoon, you’re doing yourself a service. I consistently order large quantities of both because it is truly so GOOD”

“Terrible bar, crowd, and security. Don't expect to get in depending on who's working security. sometimes you can get in late on a Monday but they won't let you in the same time on a Saturday. The crowd is the worst part of the neighborhood coming out and the bartenders are slow unless you know them. Go to Hometown or go to Sycamore, any bar in sycamore is better than this place. Especially Cub and Spanks”
