This restaurant is one of the best Filipino restaurants in the northern suburb of chicago. The food is always fresh and authentic. Only, the restaurant is soooo small. You feel like the staff is on top of you - staring at you. We mostly do take-out from this restaurant, but even with take-out, food is always good.

The quality and taste of the food would vary a little bit through the years. Meaning sometimes it is passable. Other times it is good. The ambiance has stayed the same for a long time. Not a lot of improvement at all except for some repainting done a few years back. It is not a place to entertain people you are trying to impress. The service has definitely gone down a lot. It has something to do with lenght of time you have to wait for the food to come out. I have seen and experienced it where you are already done eating and then the rest of what you ordered shows up. Name a restaurant that we know of where that is acceptable. Sometimes a delay is ok. But not to the point where you are done eating. I will avoid this place for that reason.

We decided to try this place given the good reviews. We ordered house pancit , lechon ,daing bangus , and wonton shrimp soup. After reading many good reviews and seeing photos of all the good food I felt confident it would be delicious. Boy was I wrong . First of all , the pancit was not what I expected. Despite looking very flavorful it was lacking in taste. Very blah and bland. It looked like it was soaking in an oil bath. The lechon serving was on this tiny oblong plate serving enough for 1. I could not believe that it was tasteless. Not even a hint of salt! The only food worth even eating was the soup because it actually tasted like it was seasoned. After asking the man who worked there to wrap it up, he said oh you didn't eat anything. I thought of course not because it didn't taste good . Service wasn't good. When I first got there , I asked if they had a to-go menu to take back home with me and the lady just looked at me with an expression on her face of "of course not and said just take a picture of the menu here " . What restaurant does that?

Stopped in for a quick lunch while running errands. It's a small hole in a wall that I didn't know existed until I heard they sold the creme nd crumbs sylvanas. I figured I could pick some up while here and grab some lunch. Unfortunately there were no sylvanas when I went but stayed anyway to have some lunch. They had a lot of options to choose from but eventually settled on some basic staples. I got the lomi with combination meats, chicharron bulaklak as an appetizer, chicken adobo and a siopao special. The lomi was thick and hearty. I felt like I was barely putting a dent in it. My brother ended up polishing the entire chicken adobo and a bowl of rice by himself so I assume it was enjoyable. The chicharron bulaklak was nice and crispy and the dipping sauce helped make it not so fatty. We were getting full by the time we got to the siopao so we ended up splitting it and it was delicious.

Very disappointed indeed! Was excited to try this Filipino restaurant but came home truly disappointed! Next time, please update your website and inform your customers that you don’t accept debit/credit card, but only cash. It will also benefit your business if your staff are friendly, well-mannered and kind. Not all Filipinos eating there are old customers. There will also be new comers, tourists and from other countries, too! Will never recommend this restaurant to anyone!

This is my first time trying Cid's Ma Mon Luk and I think it's pretty decent! I like that you can call and order ahead for dine in, most restaurants don't do that so it's nice that they were able to prepare our food before we came in. The lady that works at the front desk was super friendly and nice. We ordered three items:Lumpiang Shanghai (Filipino egg roll)Sinigang Baboy (Sour Soup with Pork Crispy Pata (Fried Pig Trotters)The lumpiang shanghai was alright (nothing too crazy), their sinigang was sour and delicious which is just the way I like it! Their crispy pata was extra crispy and tender which I loved. This place is a very small restaurant so make sure you call ahead if you're coming in with more than four people to make sure they can accommodate to your group size.

this little place serves legit authentic Filipino dishes that are very tasty. They have a fairly large selection of dishes for a small place and they even have grocery items. we had bangus, crispy pata, ampalia with pork, and sizzling beef. All were delicious. Dining in is cozy but everything on menu can be ordered for take out.Parking: plenty of parking

Recommended dishes: Crispy Pata, Garlic Fried Rice

This is a special place that screams delicious in every bite. We started with a Hot plate of sizzling sisig. The Fried rice is a must to compliment all the meat you will order. Order a variety of items to give yourself options to enjoy the next day. The service is great and as soon the food started to come it all came in a well timed manor to give us a chance to have a first taste of the food. Altogether a great experience and happy to come back as soon as possible.
