Shame on me as this review is long overdue!! Gatto's Downers Grove catered my sons wedding and it was phenomenal!! These days, venues are the new thing, but nothing is included in the venue rental. That had me a bit concerned as the venue kitchen was minimal to say the least. Everyone at the Wedding raved about the food, the servers, the service, and the bartenders. Chuck was so easy to work with and he was so organized and knew exactly what was needed and asked all the right questions! How Gatto's successfully drove to the City (venue location), set up, served delicious perfectly cooked food, amazing drinks and cleaned up without anything going wrong is beyond me, but they did it!! I highly recommend Gatto's for your catering needs!! Mind you, I catered many of my home parties from Gatto's as well and I have never, ever been disappointed!! Thank you everyone!! Sally S.

I was trying to enjoy a birthday dinner with my family and a little fat boy came up to my table and ate all of my food. He said his name was John and he ate all of my food and made my little kids cry because they said he looked like Humpty Dumpty. Not cool never going back there.

We decided to dine here last minute on Valentine’s Day w/o a reservation and was able to be seated within 2 minutes. Food was good as always. We did get charged twice due to a glitch in the system but it was rectified within a few days, no problems. Nice place for a casual family dinner.Kid-friendliness: Children were still dining close to closing time.

The ambience is OK and we were happy with the food, but service could have been much better. Our server (Mara C.) was deadpan and not particularly friendly; we almost felt we were bothering her. And she certainly was not busy when we were there so that wasn't an issue. On the other hand, the young fellow busing our table did a gtreat job, smiled and had a friendly attitude. All in all, though, not sure we'll be back.

Prior experiences at Downers Grave Gattos have been positive but last night was disappointing. My first 2 choices for dinner , (scallops as well as perch ) were sold out. Really ? At 5:30pm? While Jason our server was knowledgeable, he cited a policy against giving separate checks to my family and another couple at our table. He could split the total Table charge equally between 2 credit cards which isn’t helpful.

1 hour and 30 minutes waiting for the table for 6 people, ridiculous!Ordered steak (medium rare) with shrimps, steak came out well done, 3 little shrimp butterflied, so they look jumbo .It's not worth the money.

I ordered Gatto’s one night after having a pasta craving, and not wanting to cook. I picked up an order of rigatoni marinara and garlic bread Togo. I was pleased with the generous portion, it was enough for dinner & leftovers the next day. The food was delicious, and didn’t take long on a busy Friday night.

Had a catering order last evening for a family get together. Food was amazing!! Brought it home and it was piping hot and delicious! I have never eaten in the restaurant, I look forward to dining in sometime in the future. Our family gathering of 13 gave the food 10 out of 10!! Let Gattos take care of your next catering order!!
