“Absolutely loved the chicken ramen and chicken karaage at this place! Both dishes were bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The service was top-notch too, with friendly staff ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Japanese cuisine and excellent service!“
“One of the best ramen I've had. Great place try the different kinds of miso flavors originating from different parts of Japan. They also give great descriptions for the flavor profile each one offers. I love the authentic ramen shop ambience too. And the service was prompt and very friendly.“
“I love Wasabi as it is always neat and clean, the restaurant and the atmosphere is hospitable. I mostly order delivery but their service is top notch and always timely and the food is excellent everytime. I recommend to anyone who wants to try this kind of food to try Wasabi first and i promise you'll be delighted as i always am.“
“Pretty authentic Japanese ramen. Been here at least three times. All the different ramen I tried were good. However a bit on the salty side. The spicy one is actually spicy. Also, most of the time the meat slices in the ramen are melt in your mouth tender and super tasty. However, there was one time the meat was tough, chewy, and lukewarm. Duno what happened with that. The dish with the meat slices on top of rice was not as good as when the meat is on the ramen. The meat was even saltier and a little over charred. The chicken kara age is delicious. Super tender and juicy on inside and crispy outside.“
“The food here is fantastic! It's reasonably priced as well. We often order the sushi bowls. The serving sizes are generous. I don't often order in, but the service for takeout is always good. If you like sushi, it is definitely worth a try!“
“I recently ordered here and had the for to taste the spicy chicken and beef wagyu which were delicious, but the tokoyaki stood out more than anything for me. The ability to order and readiness was also worth appreciating. Highly recommended“
“My new favorite sushi place! The service is super kind and welcoming. They have such a wide variety of sushi as well as other dishes- all at an incredibly fair price! We ordered a few appetizers, rolls, and nigiri. Everything was so tasty and fresh! And even came out quickly!“
“This ramen shop absolutely has amazing authentic Japanese ramen. I was completely impressed as to how everything in my tonkotsu ramen tasted. The creamy tonkotsu broth was warm, creamy, and deliciously tasty. The pork cashu was flavorly soaked in the ramen broth that made the taste so unbelievably good. I enjoyed every single bite of my tonkotsu ramen.I like that I can spend $23 for a combo meal that comes with a yummy pork steam bun, a Thai tea drink, and any choice of ramen. The value that I got here is way better than some of the other "Top 5" ramen shops in Chicago that you see on social media. I know for a fact that I will be coming back here to satisfy my ramen cravings in the future.“
“Forbidden noodles' primarily culinary focus is Japanese Ramen and stir fry selections. The curry is good and tastes very much like the mild golden ramen brand Japanese curry that I make at home occasionally. The chicken and broccoli added to the standard rice and carrot/potato curry mixture were of good quality. The Tonkotsu had very good pork, and surprisingly, it included broccoli as well. The more common ramen garnishes of onions, baby bock choy, egg, naruto (fish cake), and seaweed were also in this bowl and tasted good. They have a cheese, steak, and jalapeño egg roll that was amazing, and yes, you should try one. Forbidden Noodles is a great addition to downtown La Grange and for this area, this is a good choice for ramen in the area. If you are searching for your favorite bowl of ramen anywhere around chicagoland, feel free to check my reviews of alternate ramen restaurant options.“
“From the massive gift shop to the real Japanese people baking the sushi in the kitchen. This place was phenomenal. My friends talked me into this because I was really skeptical about eating raw pork and chicken however I was not disappointed. I have never had such good Chinese sushi, and pierogis in my life. I felt like I was in a time machine that took me back to 1941 such a vintage location with historic sentiment. Don’t forget to try the special verde sauce. This place is for the whole family.“
“Very aesthetically pleasing place. I liked the decor and the wallpaper of the place. Nice spot for ramen. The broth was very tasty for the classic tonkotsu. The staff was quick and very accommodating for our 10-12 people group. It was one of the best ramens I had in the area. Will be coming back and highly recommend!“
“This place was unexpectedly good, especially given the fact that it’s in a food court. My expectation of food courts is not high. There were somewhat expensive but they were good so it was worth it. The staff was really helpful and answered any questions I had. Food was delicious. Plenty of meat.“
“Great, family-friendly service. I came here with my kids, so that was top of mind. The food was delicious, and I was glad that they asked me about the spice level instead of just making it bland. My kids ate without reservations. I recommend the kid's boxes for the kids. It's a great combo for the little ones.“
“We googled this place as we drove back home from the airport. We got pleasantly surprised. The location is really good. Free street parking and conveniently located in Elmhurst downtown.Ramen was great. We got chicken ramen, chicken spicy and pork. The three were quite good.Great value. We paid $105 for 5, included 1 beer and 1 glass of wine.“
