“Yesterday my father and I visited Dovetail Inn for lunch around 12:30ish. This was his 2nd time visiting ( he couldn't recall what he had the 1st time) and this was my 1st time. Walking in for the first time it was tastefully decorated with decor and there seemed to be plenty of seating for larger crowds. There were roughly 10-15 other guests spread out at the tables and bar stools. There were specials listed on the board which my dad went for ( half sandwich & bean soup) while I chose the smash burger with fries. They also had cottage cheese as a side which is my go-to appetizer/side over salad, etc. It was a good sized portion. Not every restaurant has cottage cheese as an option so they already got a star just for having that. Service was fast and the waitress was very friendly. Now here is why Dovetail Inn got 5 stars. The smash burger was a smashing success! Served on lightly toasted ( buttered?) ciabatta bun with melted cheddar cheese with lettuce/mayo toppings, the burger was one of the best I have ever had and I get a burger literally everywhere I go. The burger itself had great flavor and was seared to perfection. I rarely give a burger 5 stars but this had me salivating for more. I rarely eat an entire meal in 1 sitting but this burger couldn't wait to be devoured. It was so good I woke up the next morning and was still thinking about that burger! The french fries were bubbly and very similar to other places I have visited. Very solid fry. I shared some with my dad who devoured his meal before I was done with mine. We learned the tomatoes are freshly picked from the garden of the owner. They have delicious deserts available but we were too stuffed to enjoy those this time around.( deserts are made in-house and from a local popular bakery) Emden might be out of the way for most people but it's well worth the drive! The only minor complaint came from my dad who said the tap water didn't taste right and he only could take a couple of sips. I on the other hand drank my entire glass of tap water. You go there for the food not the drinks. My suggestion is to get a soda, tea or bring your own bottled water instead, if you are a water critic like him haha. They have a vest menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I really want to try the fried chicken next time I visit because I will be back!”

“We stopped in on the way back to Springfield. I think we will make reasons to come to Lincoln just eat here. All of our food was absolutely amazing and the staff was very friendly. They have a in house hot sauce which is good but they do have tobasco! LolWill definitely be coming back.”

“Blizzards amazing, service a little slow [ possibly training a new hire ] , atmosphere is walk or drive thru... had a car full with five kids and two adults so there was no sitting in the Drive-Thru figuring out what everybody wanted to walk up to the window snowing outside so atmosphere a little weak”

“Never been to this city ever. I travel a lot. My lil ranger hit some debris on the highway and my brake line got severed so I got stuck here for the night. Walked here from the motel 6, and oh my good God. This place was everything I needed to pick me back up on my feet. Taylor was bartending, and made my night. Im talking about pure positivity, a regular knows a mechanic and hes gonna help me tomorrow morning to get me back on the road. This place is a site for sore eyes. Thank you Taylor and your bar neighbors for being quality human beings. 100 out of 10 recommend. This place will bring you out of your sorrows without even trying. Im in love with this town and I will make this place an absolute destination when I pass through again!”

“My daughter and I have movie night every Saturday night and Chi is always must have for it! Our favorite is the crab rangoons (or as my four year old calls them crab raccoons ?) and the staff is always so friendly!Kid-friendliness: Always so sweet to my daughter! ”

“The only reason I give it 4 is because the old fashioned diner is there but the wait staff wasn't. Had to order off a kiosk, pick the food up at the counter and cleanup and throw away the trash. Just missed being able to sit down eat pay and leave I guess. Food was great though and fairly quickly ready for us!”
