Our family loves C & W the restaurant, the ice cream and the pantry. The food is yummy - love the cheesesteak in particular. The owners The Weavers are amazing people who give back a TREMENDOUS amount to the Evanston community like holding walk up food pantries on a regular basis for those in need. Good food, great prices, and excellent service. They ran out of the Italian Beef and offered to upgrade my order to a Philly Cheesesteak with extra meat for no extra cost. The cheesesteak and Cod sandwich were delicious. The wings had good flavor and needed a bit of salt, but the sauce that it came with was delicious. The fries were crispy and could have used extra salt. Portions were generous, and service was immaculate.

This place is cheap, but they make a lot of great food. When I say cheap, I mean cheap in today's economy. It seems like a hole in the wall.... but sometimes those holes in the wall are actually great. If you drive around it, you would not think anything about it because it looks like your normal establishment. They have a lot of ice cream, and when I say a Lotta ice cream I mean they actually have a lot of ice cream. Let me put it like this pretend you were going into a ice cream parlor and there's a bunch of ice cream that is just like this, but there is like 50 other items. They have so many flavors is hard to get pleaded into the market area! The

C & W Market has started a series called "C & W Soul Food Sunday" where they will serve traditional Soul food. Today C & W featured menu items: Seafood or Chicken Gumbo, made by local Evanstonian Chef Graham. Chicken wings or Fish was also featured on the menu. I ordered a Large Seafood Gumbo, which was delicious! My dish was visibly full of chicken, crab and sausuage. Dish comes with rice. I placed my order as take out, however ate half in the place and took half home. Several people were ordering dishes to go. All had a great time chatting amongst themselves, with Chef Graham and the owners, Mr. and Mrs. Weaver. The place is every welcoming. Plenty of space to wait or eat inside to enjoy food and or sweet treats. The place is decorated with colorfull pictures of ice cream and treats. I plan to return on Sundays for another soulful Sunday dish! Plenty of street or parking in lot across the street.

I rarely write yelp reviews, but was inspired after having such a lovely experience getting ice cream there last night. The warm environment and extraordinary customer service made the whole outing an A+ experience. The family running this business greet every customer as they walk in, engaged us in conversation, and treated us with a personal touch that one rarely gets these days with so many chains and corporate businesses. And the ice cream - esp the rum raisin, were fantastic. We will surely go back on our next visit to Chicago!

My son and I got cheeseburgers today- really glad to have come in for lunch. The burgers were cooked very well with a great bun to boot. Fries were good, with season salt. Really glad to have this place in the neighborhood. Will definitely be coming back!

Nothing short of amazing service and flavors!!! We visited a nearby park and the kids wanted ice cream. We had a few options, but are glad we selected C&W! We ordered the strawberry shake, funnel cake and received the loaded steak fries on the house! Best ice cream parlor in Evanston! Visit today!*kids couldn’t wait to dig in, so I apologize for the photos of half eaten food and ice cream. Their presentation was actually beautiful when it was served! ??

Stepping into C&W Ice Cream Parlor, you know you are in a happy place. Of course I came for the ice cream and it didn’t disappoint. What I didn’t know was how good the hamburger would be-generous portion and cooked to perfection. With big smiles on their faces and their genuine warmth, Wendy and Clarence Weaver make you feel like you are a guest in their home. Indeed, a very special place just opened in Evanston!
