I keep trying to support this business but it’s like they don’t want money. This is literally like my 10th time trying to place an order on doordash. The orders are NEVER ACCEPTED. The phone to the actual establishment doesn’t work either.Kid you not — I’ve canceled multiple orders because they don’t accept them. There is no telling how much money this business is missing out on. I didn’t want to leave a bad review but it literally happened again today. Terrible customer service!

Went there quite a bit time ago using Groupon. Food taste is quite specific (you may like it in case you're ok with cajun spices) but overall, not greatly impressed. My husband said he did not like their salmon. Tuna for mine was okay, in my opinion. Place seemed a little dirty and not conductive to staying fro dine-in. Maybe, they have improved significantly since that tine but coming with Groupon or other discount would be somewhat pricy for that kind of service.

This was our second time. We didn't want to base our review on one disappointing visit. I will say at the outset the food we did receive the first time was quite good. But it appears that the place is geared more to take out than dine in. On today's second visit I decided to phone ahead thinking I would save time. There was no answer so I went ahead anyway. This was at noon time, and the place was empty. The guy was walking around not behind the counter. And it wouldn't have mattered because he couldn't have heard the phone anyway because the music was up to 11. I order my burger, and we're about 5 minutes in when he announces that they have no hamburger buns. I repeat, THE SANDWICH PLACE HAS NO BREAD. That's when I walked out. I'll give it one more shot in the future.

I'm always so glad to find a place I know I will be ordering from again! This is one of those places. The girlfriend (who recommended this place) and I both had the J*** Chicken Fettuccine Bowl and sweet potato fries. Everything was absolutely delicious and the portions were good. I'm looking forward to ordering from here again!

Delicious food and great portion sizes. It's also Black owned. They take their time prepping the food so definitely order ahead.

Great service and food! Came here with my Mom and brothers for her birthday. Was not dissapointed! We tried the chicken Alfredo bowls, quesadillas, chicken wings, and fries. There was only one woman working and she did an amazing job juggling our group and the others who came in. I would definitely return!

You can never go wrong with anything you order from Litehouse! They have mastered a lot of different food such as wraps, pastas and wings. I highly recommend the wraps. It is such a cool hang out spot as well. They have a pool table, a little library, and outdoor seating.

Just had a great meal, super glad it's in the neighborhood. I had the southwestern salad, kids had tacos and quesadillas, and my wife had salmon. All cooked and seasoned well. I'll definitely come back!

Litehouse Evanston is baby sister to The Soul Shack on 53rd street (a must visit for their soul food egg roll). The menu has a nice selection of American and Caribbean casual fare. I ordered the j*** chicken quesadillas which came with a standard red salsa, an attempt at crema (which seemed more like watered down sour cream) and a more spicy hot green salsa. I paid $8.99 and it was well worth it regardless of the cream. The quesadillas were a nice mix of chicken, beans, roasted corn and rice. I did not see lettuce and tomato as the menu stated. As an experienced diner I look for appropriate portions and this was perfect. The building is owned and ran by the City of Evanston. There is plenty of seating and rotating art exhibits to enjoy with the option to rent event space. I imagine such great things for this building...I hope they come to fruition. Why 3 stars? Simply put cleanliness, the front door was greasy when I opened it and the counter had some type of fluid smeared on it (soda perhaps). I'm not too picky tho cuz I still ate there and I'm glad I did.
