“We stopped in one afternoon to Harmony Coffee Bar. You know what harmony is ? A combination of things or parts that forms a connected and unified whole. That just about sums up our visit to this adorable cafe. I ordered the Gold Crush Latte which is topped with Dalgona which melted into the latte giving it a slightly sweet and mellow flavor. My companion ordered an iced Gold Crush Latte so they could enjoy the Dalgona as it slowly released its sugary cookie flavor into the coffee beverage. As we savored our drinks in the pleasant and cozy seating, they prepared our Croffle, a combination of croissant and waffle, and it was crispy and buttery and caramelly. All in all, a harmonious mix of flavors and textures that added up to a very pleasant midday interlude.“

For example people from high school who you forgot about but now feel the need to impress, bikers who don’t know how to share the road and wear obnoxious neon, and weird hipsters who are really thrilled to tell anyone who will listen that they’re having coffee in a converted firehouse. “I can't understand the negative reviews. I brought my three girls here for lunch and we had an amazing lunch! We last dined here about a year ago. The service was incredibly fast, the fried calamari was delicious, and the pizza was amazing. My picky eater asked for four more meatballs after devouring the first three that came on her spaghetti. I decided to try the soup/sandwich combo. It was so difficult to choose a sandwich because they ALL sounded amazing. I was very pleased with the Italian sandwich with the asparagus soup. I wish I would have brought a quart of the soup home for my husband to enjoy. The ingredients are fresh and everything tastes wonderful. I am already looking forward to our next visit!!“

“The Onion soup was good, it was verry filling and tasted great, I would recommend to try it. The raspberry and strawberry tarts were also amazing, they are similar but each taste flavorful and delicious. If that doesn’t say it’s a good choice, then keep reading.The skillets are made to perfection with crispy hash browns (which I usually skip) with the tender choice of meat and grilled veggies. The Farmer’s Daughter French Toast is one of the most delicious French Toasts I’ve ever had, it’s a perfect breakfast/dessert when you really just want to eat something delicious.Now the drinks: Their black plain coffee is smooth and tasty even without sugar. This really is a hidden gem with a wonderful mission to support adults with intellectual disabilities. Why stop at a chain restaurant when your money can go to such a good cause? TIP: We were glad we wandered around because we picked up some delicious chocolates & cookies in the little country store around the corner from the pet stop.“

There's a counter with a few stools, some tables and chairs, or a couch and chairs to relax on. Got a hazelnut latter, which was amazing - not bitter, not overly sweet. I devoured the kale/sweet potato/quinoa bowl and freaking loved it. My partner enjoyed a breakfast burrito, which came with a side of fruit. Great service and ambiance. “TL;DR 5/5: This is how a café should be.Food 5/5: Spring Pea was the soup of the day on each of 2024 March 20 and 21. White cream decorated the vibrant, green soup as a barista would an artful latte and the colors enhanced a rich and textured soup which included strips of Genoa salami. The Rosemary Ham & Cheddar Savory Crepe, accompanied by a vinaigrette-topped salad, added further taste and temperature -- heavy and warm from the savory crepe, light and chilled from the salad -- to the meal. Next, while the Classic Bennie (Canadian bacon, poached eggs, with house salad) was also filling, the Denver Omelet (bell peppers, onion, rosemary ham, cheddar, and substituting chips for house salad) beat all of the above with not only its sunny eggs and bright red bell peppers but also its delicate flavor. And to drink, a hot, Honey Lavender Latte ("heavenly" was how I described it to a server who asked how everything was), proved to be popular for good reason.Service 5/5: Dining in was quasi counter-based, where one orders and pays at the counter, receives utensils and a number to set at their table, and has their meal brought to them and finished dishes cleared away by a server who may ask how the diner's meal was. Or at least that's how it went with me, with never a lag or rush. Great job.Atmosphere 5/5: Side street parking by this café was available. Inside it was fairly busy but not packed. “I have now visited this place a few times. I was here when they first opened and they needed to work out the kinks. I visited again when their pastries seemed to only come out of the refrigerated shelves and now they have a case with pastries. The two women working were nice when I arrived both greeting me separately when I walked in. One worked solely on drive thru orders and didn't help out the main counter if there was no one in the drive thru. The other working the main counter took her time making my drink of choice: hot mocha with oatmilk and an extra pump of chocolate (not a coffee drinker here). She filled my mug to the brim with artistic yumminess. It's a fairly open concept inside with two Jeni's ice cream coolers along one wall and a refrigerated cooler with juice cold brew canned coffees, bagels, fruit and other items. There's plenty of seating and plenty of space so you aren't on top of others. They have bistro tables, high chairs with a counter along two windows, low tables for 2/4/6 people for privacy to collaboration, and they have comfortable chairs and couches with coffee tables. It's a great place to start your day, conduct business, meet up with family and friends or to just kick back with a nice cup of Joe and a decent nosh.“
“West Town Bakery opened another location! They have branched out to the suburbs and created an awesome space with a connection to OKAY dispensary. This place is awesome. The bakery continues to impress and by the way has the most FABULOUS gluten free selections, I LOVE the cake balls! There is also a very cool inviting lounge attached to OKAY which I highly recommend visiting as well. Now I hear they are expanding and opening a new location in Evanston in early 2024, can't wait to see that. “I had the pleasure of visiting this boba shop recently, and despite the initially daunting line, the wait time was surprisingly short, clocking in at around 15 minutes. What impressed me most was the efficiency of the staff; they were clearly well-staffed and managed to keep the line moving smoothly, even with a large crowd of high school students. While the boba itself wasn't the most extraordinary I've ever tasted, the drinks were certainly satisfying. They struck a good balance between flavor and sweetness, making them enjoyable treats. What's interesting is that I've been here before during quieter periods, and while the shop was relatively empty, the service speed remained consistent, which speaks to their commitment to efficiency. Overall, despite the initial wait and the boba being just above average, I would still be inclined to come back. The overall experience was pleasant enough, and knowing that the service is reliable makes it worth another visit.“
