“So, listen, I completely understand changing your menu and I also understand that you are a Mexican restaurant and you’d prefer to serve Mexican food. BUT since we were last there, you changed your menu and removed the chicken strips and fries. So, atmosphere was great, service was great, food was very good, blood orange margarita was tasty, but we’ll be back when my picky 10 year old turns 18 because I can afford - occasionally - $13 for her chicken strips but not another $60 for a sitter and I’m not willing to fight with her about her awful dietary choices during a rare night out. Please bring back the chicken strips. Otherwise, we’ll miss you.“

“If I can give Layla more than 5 stars I would. I came into Chilis with 5 family members to start off and then was surprised with 2 more. We sat at a smaller table and requested to be switched. She had to ask the manager and he ended up saying no for whatever reason. Layla made the executive decision to switch us (which was the correct thing to do) because adding 2 more chairs to the current table would have caused traffic, a struggle for the other table to move and get up & over all uncomfortable. She was so sweet and understood the issue. She helped all of us move and updated us on our food constantly. We understood how busy it was so we avoided bothering her. Layla helping us move to another table made us truly happy and she has the best customer service. Highly recommend coming to chilis on the night she works and requesting to sit at her tables.“

“Had problems with kiosk payment system - twice. First, at our booth. Our server couldn't get the device to work, then tried another before getting a printed copy of the bill and processing it the old-fashioned way. Then, we went to the take-out desk where kiosks are also used to get some gift cards and the only kiosk had to have a battery change and reboot to process our purchase. These payment issues added ~20 minutes to our experience.“

“It's hard to find true Tex Mex food in Chicago (not Mexican, but Tex Mex), and this place hit the notes. We started with the skillet queso with brisket, which was tasty but a lot for only two people! My chicken fajitas were delicious, and my boyfriend had the quesa birri tacos which came with guajillo consomme for dipping. I also had a margarita that packed quite a punch! Our waitress was ok, falling off slightly when we needed more water and the check. This place is off the main downtown drag, near a small park, with indoor and outdoor seating. Already planning when I can get to Next Mex next!!“
