“We stopped in on Sunday 3/16/2025 on way home from Springfield. I saw tablecloths and cloth napkins thought we would be out of place. Far from it. From the hostess, to waitress, bus boys made everyone feel so welcome. I wish I could remember our waitresses name, she was so good, friendly, knowledgeable. Fried chicken was awesome, as was my husband's chicken fried steak, soup and salad bar. So to the very pretty young lady with the long wavy hair thank you for making us feel so welcome, making fresh coffee and never letting cup get empty. We would drive the 100 miles from home again to eat here. From the old biker with beard and wife with the crutch.”

“What a lovely place to have dinner. Cozy ambiance, service was on point and the star of the evening is the food. It always feel good to support local business and it’s always the right thing to do when you can taste the passion they have for serving delicious food.”

“We thought we would try Jubelt's Bakery & Restaurant since they are on the old Route 66 which I adore. The food was pretty good. We really liked the steak fries. When you place your order and pay at the counter, they'll ask for your table number, so be sure to have that in mind before you order. Make the table is unoccupied! Their bakery case will filled with amazing pastries and desserts, we didn't try any of them.
In May 1922, three brothers—Paul, Fred, and Albert Jubelt—purchased a bakery in the coal mining town of Mount Olive, Illinois, where bread was the main focus. They put in a lot of effort and found success. Sadly, Albert passed away in 1929, prompting Fred to launch a second bakery in Granite City. By 1935, the partnership ended, and Paul took over the Mount Olive bakery on his own. They decided to open a bakery in Litchfield which has been around for a long time. #route66”

“A small but cute cafe. It has 6-7 tales and a quiet atmosphere. You can find parking in front of the door. Staff is friendly. The prices are affordable and the coffee is fresh. A nice break on Route 66 :)
I couldn't take pictures of the inside because it was crowded.”
