What used to be a go to Greek fast food place l, is now run by a different ethnicity group. Ok what ever. But $29 for a gyro and cheeseburger? No just. No. That's outrageous. Whomever cashed out that right time cause we won't be back.

I have been going here since I was a little kid, and the gyros have always been outstanding. Ever since the new owners have come in, the gyros have changed. The tzatziki sauce is very watery and doesn’t have much taste, it needs to be thicker and include better ingredients for more flavor. The proportions are much smaller. I couldn’t finish my sandwich cause it was just not up to par and didn’t taste like normal. My father said these new gyros are borderline unacceptable, and I agree. I hope they listen to the public and change back the recipe or better it. Also miss the original Alex’s guy! Won’t be going back any time soon.

Garbage , now that the original guy left foods Garbage, gyros aren't the same ,, beef sucks ohhh and you never get your complete order, they don't give you the correct sauce to anything , you have a Chinese own with a Mexican staff who can't communicate with each other oh then you call and ohhh I'm busy I'm busy is all the answer you get cause she can't communicate with phones either ,,,,, completely garbage

New owners- the first time I called the guy on the phone told me a hamburger and a cheeseburger were the same thing? I literally had to provide guidance but, I figured it was just a one off as they get use to the place. The second time the entire order was horribly wrong on top of that we had to wait for the smallest piece of chicken to get placed on a salad… everything else was freezing when we got home. Not worth a third time.

Seems like they got new owners. Gyro was way smaller than anytime before. Kid cooking couldn't even start the grill. Corn dogs were not Vienna. Used to love this place. Sucks

Update the owners sold this eatery 2023 and now the menu is slowly changing. I have been coming to this restaurant for many years I stopped in on Aug 25th 2023 for a pint of coleslaw to go for our Friday evening cook out on our grill. When we had dinner and opened the coleslaw it was completely different than the past many years not creamy or a hint of sweetness to it. I called the restaurant and the new owner said oh the cook must have changed the recipe. I will not be returning here ever again to purchase anything and add insult to it she raised the price by a dollar for the nasty coleslaw they now serve.I have been coming to this restaurant since 1998 and out if those years maybe my family and I have 3 bad experiences. ..Good food and service 99.9% of the time...
We had lunch a second time giving the new owner a second opportunity if we were going to return in the future. Unfortunately we won't be returning, sadly, to what we did consider one of favorite places to eat.

Gyros are fantastic here. Feels like I'm back in Chicago every time I step foot in there. However I can only give them 2 stars because of the disgusting black stain on the bottom of my soda cup after the ice melted and evaporated. That tells me they haven't cleaned their ice machine in years. People are going to get sick off that ice.

Alex’s is the first place I ever tried a euro, and I’ve never found a place that even comes close to the gyros at Alex’s. The inside looks like it hasn’t been updated in years, but personally, I prefer places that look like that, because it means the food will be outstanding. The prices are super cheap and I feel like you can’t find a gyro that reasonable anywhere around here!
