The restaurant is pick up only and the front is run down and even a bit dingy in appearance but the prices are great and the food is REALLY good! When we moved to McHenry 10 years ago we had trouble finding Chinese food we liked. Finally friends suggested checking out China House.

Ordered from there 1-11-24 they forgot the sweet and sour sauce for the sweet and sour chicken. Called the restaurant they tell us to call door dash they tell us to contact the restaurant. Needless to say china house was no help wouldn't even give us sweet and sour sauce. He was rude and hung up on my mother when she said is like my sauce for chicken. Their food is always delicious! My mother in law called her garlic shrimp dish "exceptional!" They always deliver it quickly. This is our favorite Chinese restaurant in the area.

Some of the food was good and some not so good. What happened to this place? Food scores: Egg Roll gets a 1 Looks like one, no flavor, no internal structure. Crab Rangoon gets a 2 At least it hade the flavor, just not much filling. Steamed Dumplings gets a 3. Not sure what the paste looking substance was but it tasted like it should. General TSO, Lo Mein, and Sweet and sour Chicken scored much better they get a 4.5. I'm not going to tell you to stay away. Just be cautious as to what you order.

I would rate this restaurant a zero if that were an option. I went in to order food, wait, and bring it home. I told them my order, paid, and got home with one order completely missing. I called to tell them, and the man who answered the phone told me that I was wrong, that I did not order the other meal. I told him that I did in fact order the meal and would like it delivered to me. He hung up on me, I called back and asked for a manager and he said no and hung up again. called back again, asked for an owner, he hung up on me. We did this 5 times, and he told me no each time and hung up. This is the WORST customer service I have ever received!!! What he should have done was correct HIS MISTAKE, and made the customer happy. I have worked in restaurants my whole life, and would have never expected this type of behavior! I will never recommend this place to anyone because of this man's behavior!!!!!!

Very small pretty much take out only place. Ordered beef and broccoli lunch special and it was just ok, but the price is cheap for lunch with soda pop.

Dirty grimy place take out only. Looks like it's never been cleaned.I really had second thoughts about eating the food there while waiting for my order.Most likely I'll never order there again.Food I did receive was tasteless.Had the boneless ribs combo.Mostly loaded with grease in the barbeque sauce.Health department should look into checking this place out.

After a year of searching, my husband and I finally found Chinese food in McHenry that we like! I love the wonton eggdrope soup, the wonton soup and the potstickers. My husband enjoys the Mongolian beef and the General Tso's chicken. This is our go to place!
