A local BBQ restaurant with charm. Located across from Fort Massac state park in Metropolis, Illinois, "Bill's" offers a wonderful selection: bbq sandwiches, superb ribs, fries, Baked beans, nachos. Crunchy onion rings. They also serve breakfast. The portions are impressive, and all is tasty. We ate in because of the weather, but its location makes it convenient to pickup food and eat in park. Great tasting option over the local fast food restaurants. Great tasting barbecue, hamburgers, pulled pork, smoked ham, fries, potato salad and more. Conveniently located just off 8th Street on your way into town. Plenty of parking and a cool old school atmosphere. Worth the visit on the way to see the Superman statue.

Have went there more than once following the hours they say they are open, like again yesterday , got there at 2:48 pm , counted on them for dinner to be open til 3 , like the sign says , ..they were closed.Food is excellent , it's just getting your hands on it.The hours for to buy for dinner are done so early to begin with , so should stay open the hours they say they will.Had drove from Vienna to there.May not ever go back , has happened before
