“Bloom has become my favorite place to grab brunch in Wicker Park on Sundays! Stunning atmosphere, incredibly thoughtful, kind, attentive staff, and the food consistently blows me away! This weekend I went with a friend and we shared their Avocado Toast special which was an easy 10/10. Their Caesar Salad is always a must (and a tasty way to sneak in greens with brunch). The star of the show for me is always the Tempeh Ranchero Omelette - it nearly brings me to tears every single time (it's that GREAT)!! It was nearly 70 degrees outside and we sat right in the window with them open and it was glorious. If you're looking for a great spot for a girl's brunch, date night, or foodie spot in Chicago, this is an absolute MUST!“
“HandleBar exceeded our expectations! Amazing food, exceptional service, and a wide variety of options for vegetarians and vegans. Don't miss the black bean tostadas, fried avocado grilled cheese, and Pie, Pie My Darling Cake. The Lavender Rosemary Latte is a must-try. Overall, HandleBar is the perfect place for those seeking amazing vegetarian and vegan cuisine.“
“We had lunch today at Thattu. It was bustling with almost every table full, but the tables have ample space between them and it wasn’t too loud. The beautiful exposed brick and huge windows cast a warm glow on the modern dining room. They nailed Indian flavors without being heavy or greasy, and the fun fusion dishes we tried, like Indian-spiced tater tots with sulfur salt and beet ketchup are well executed and a lot of fun. It would be easy to eat healthy at Thattu, and I enjoyed the vegetarian combo with vegetable curry, rice, beans, and sauteed Brussels sprouts with coconut. We also tried the fried chicken with dill sauce, and the catfish.Guests order through an app at Thattu, and the cost is inclusive of service. They don’t accept tips. At lunch, you grab your own flatware, napkins, and water from a bar in the dining room. We didn’t mind this. One particularly nice touch was that when we arrived, there were no tables available, and we agreed to sit at the bar. The host said he would let us know if a table became available, since sometimes guests cancel very close to their reservation time. Lucky for us, about 10 minutes after we arrived, the host brought us to a table. It was kind of him to remember our preference and work on that for us. Googling the restaurant later, I realized that the handsome host was co-owner Vinod Kalathil. He’s clearly a wonderful business owner who knows how to make his customers happy.Thattu2601 W Fletcher StreetChicago’s Avondale neighborhood“
“This may be my new favourite restaurant in Chicagoland — an opinion shared by my family. We enjoyed stellar food. Even by non-vegetarian standards. The Tom Kha soup and spicy eggplant (which also tastes great mild) are fantastic. The curry we tried was also very good. The soy “chicken” has excellent texture and flavour, whether soft or battered. One plate per person is a reasonable serving size.Dietary restrictions: Vegan“
“Ate there for the first time tonight. I am vegan and my husband is an Omni. Chef Bill came out and waited on us personally, and gave us menu recommendations, all of which were delicious! The ambiance was so relaxing and peaceful; it was a nice respite from a busy day and I didn’t want to leave. Reasonably priced as well: shared appetizer, two teas, two entrees, and two desserts was $60. Will definitely be back for many more dinners!“
“My wife has memories of eating here with her mother in 1992. So this place has been here for a long time. The problem with that is the food is a bit out dated. I think a new menu would really help the situation. Each menu item needed some seasoning and flavor. Everything was bland. Vegetarian food does not have to be this way.The service was great and the location is great, but it's not gonna be a place I'm going to frequent.“
“TNT was definitely a vibe! My friend was celebrating her birthday and I’m glad she picked the restaurant! The food was great, seasoned well and the drinks were made really good too! I didn’t get a single picture of the tasting sampler just a video but the 3 different meat options gave what it was suppose to give and it was amazing! I will be back!Parking: The street was pretty full close to the restaurant! We did go late at night but we found a parking spot not too far from the restaurant!“
“This afternoon I wanted to try some Vegan food. I've tasted Vegan food before, but that was before my Vegan/Vegetarian journey. Today I got the Jerk Jack Taco dinner for me and my husband and the Vegan mac and cheese and it was so good. I just wish they delivered to Maywood. It looks like I'll be traveling to get my Vegan food.“
“I had the Mac and cheese balls and the tofu buffalo wrap (with fries)- so good! Don't be fooled, the Mac and cheese balls are big! I realized I was getting full as I was finishing my second one, so I stopped to wait for my wrap. The Mac and cheese balls are perfectly fried and an amazing cheesy taste. Plus they're served with a "ranch"sauce that is delightful. The tofu buffalo wrap was one of the best wraps I've had in a while because it's exactly my style- nothing over the top, just simple ingredients flavored and wrapped to perfection. The Bloody Mary was perfect as well! It's tough to find a vegan Bloody Mary, and this one was exactly the way I like- (again) simple and flavorful. You can get it spicy or not. I'll be back!“
“Caspian Kabab has wonderful food with such a wide variety, there is something for everyone! The owner, Massoud, goes out of his way to ensure that everyone feels is happy and full! The sample platters are a great way to try a lot of different food. His homemade hummus, crabcakes, lamb kabobs, chocolate cake are the best and you have to try his tea! Thanks you, Massoud, for a great night out with the family!!!!! We'll be back!!!!“
“This was first visit and I am impressed with the food. Ordered ginger chicken and summer rolls. Both very good. Prices are reasonable and they have seating inside for dining in. I will be back! I am excited to try some more dishes. The people are also very nice and great service. As a side note, they do not serve any wine/beer/cocktails.“
“such kind staff and warm atmosphere. amazing food and drinks and such a lovely place to spend time.Dietary restrictions: I’m gluten free and vegetarian and have been dairy free and they have so many options that work for all kinds of restrictions.“
“Came here for a family member's birthday. The menu was updated and the food was very tasty with large portions. The atmosphere is energetic and fun. I would recommend more low-carb options but otherwise this place is fire ?. I got a healthy dinner regardless that was very tasty.“
“Cute little cafe, perfect for a brunch date. I had the waffle pizza and it was delicious!! Served with the cutest little glass syrup bottle, and the perfect blend of sweet and savory.Dietary restrictions: Great vegetarian and vegan options.“
“The food was really delicious and it is a big plus being able to get healthy, vegan choices that taste good. Everything we had was amazing!! I so recommend it if you want to eat healthy or just introduce yourself to healthy choices. Our server also was so nice!“
“The food here was delicious and so filling. I came with a group of 5 and basically ordered one item from each section on the menu, trying a lamb, beef, seafood, veggie, and chicken selection. Honestly, I don’t even know if we specifically got what we ordered; it seemed like the server just gave us what she thought was good for each section, which was fine by us.Eritrean food and Ethiopian food have a fairly large overlap, sharing the injera and eating style, but differing on certain sauces and use of tomatoes (among other things). The injera here wasn’t as sour as I’ve had at other places, which I found I actually prefer, and I really loved its taste. The salad in the middle was a nice touch and the dressing was delicious. All the flavors of each item were rich and robust. My favorite was the fish— it was tender and full of flavor; I felt the beef was pretty tough/overcooked though. Overall, it was a lot of food and we all were extremely stuffed afterwards; it was well worth the ~$30 per person cost.A family-owned neighborhood restaurant with very homey vibes and a spacious interior, our servers were super sweet and attentive. They kept bringing out more injera, various spicy sauces, and water for us. Though the food took quite some time to come out, it was worth it when it arrived. Overall, it’s a great spot to bring a larger group, and if I lived closer I would definitely come more regularly.—Price (relative to peers): 4.2/5Food: 4.5/5Ambience: 4.4/5Service: 4.8/5Overall Value: 4.5/5“
“I got a "Fight the Flu" smoothie here a few weeks ago, and it was super fresh, nourishing, and delicious! Just what I needed. Free samples of their acai bowls, as well. I hadn't even realized this place was here until recently, so I hope more people find it and frequent it! The employee working at the time was super friendly and enthusiastic about the restaurant. I tried a gluten-free (yuca) empanada as well, and it was great! This spot deserves to be more lively insideDietary restrictions: Gluten-free options available“
“A family run restaurant with great food and a friendly staff that makes you feel welcome. The appetizer are start to every meal. A selection of appetizer and splitting a main course is often enough for two.Dietary restrictions: The food is made to order and meets the personal needs.“
“My only complaint was that we waited almost an additional hour past when the order was estimated to be ready to get our food. This is a relatively simple problem and shouldn't affect your choice to go there. This could have been due to circumstances that were unique to that evening. The food was absolutely worth the wait though. Very delicious.Vegetarian options: Lots of variety with huge flavor.“
“I don't know how they ended up there but there's always a bunch of soul vegan options at my local bodega. All of them are good, but I'd sell my left foot for a lifetime supply of the Chik'n salad wrap. All offerings are good, but that wrap is amazing.“
“I am SO happy I ordered from here browsing through grubhub one day. This is my new ABSOLUTE FAVORITE lunch spot. Don’t worry about silverware, you’ll be shoveling it in with your hands. Trust me. The prices are amazing, the lamb is perfection, the lentil soup tastes like home.( Not my home, I’m a white lady from Wisconsin, but it definitely tastes like someone’s home.)Ugh! Not enough nice things to say. A must try. Thank you so much for the wonderful food!“
“Upon entering, there was pretty Indian music playing and a strong smell of incense. I went out to eat with a friend and we ordered Bahubali sandwichs and Masala dosa. This was a lot of food for two people. The Masala dosa was crunchy, flavorful, and had a variety of great spices. It was accompanied by sambhar and two chutneys (I believe but I’m not 100%).As for the bahubali sandwiches, they were fresh, crunchy and cheesy. If you enjoy lots of cheese and freshness this is a great dish. Both meals were fantastic in taste. The staff was very nice and they really care for putting out good food. I will for sure be back to try more items on the menu.“
