“We live at Apple Canyon Lake. We visit regularly especially during the summer when we bring our dog and eat on the patio. Food is always good from soup to burgers. After reading some old reviews I wonder why people who dont live here feel they are treated differently. If the bartender doesn't see you go up to the bar and tell him. Same with paying the bill. They don't employ a lot of people. Once they get to know you, however, they'll even remember your drinks, etc. Its good hometown eating.”

“Stopped in for a quick bite and glad we did. The atmosphere was great. Excellent beer selection, even if you don’t care for craft beer they had others to choose from. The night we stopped they had two menu choices. We had the smash burgers and they were absolutely delicious. Staff was super friendly with excellent service.”

“We are from out of town and stopped in for a quick bite this evening. Small towns often have the reputation of being unfriendly or unwelcoming, so we’d be slightly apprehensive about stopping in.The two gentlemen behind the counter put that to rest instantly; they had THE best customer service out of any Subway we’ve ever visited. We were in about 40 minutes before close and they not only didn’t seem phased by that, they were also super friendly and talkative, telling us about the cool things going on in the area and the local treasures we should explore in town.These two should be on the tourism bureau. In a world where so many people have become unfriendly, they are a bright ray of sunshine. Great job!!!”

“This place is classic. Small town drive in, young kids earning money on summer break and low prices on great simpler time foods and soft-serve. If you haven't been here yet, you need to go. Tell your friends and neighbours. Don't let places like this one die to the big nothing burger places. And summer will be done before you know it and you will have to wait til next year.”

“This is a cute sports bar with lots of sports memorabilia from local school teams. There is a separate bar and restaurant area. The newly updated outdoor seating is very fun, and recently there were popular bands on the outdoor stage. This restaurant is located on a golf course, and has daily specials. I like that they post their specials on Facebook so we can see them ahead of time! It is a cozy place to eat and hang out with friends.”

“We eat at Mulligans frequently and enjoy a late lunch early dinner. The servings are generous and the menu Is ample. The onion wings are hand breaded, soups are available daily, fish and burgers are amazing. I also enjoy the wings. The service is always pleasant- though the bar is dark the dining room area is well lit. I recommend Mulligans in Lena”

“We were so grateful that Jay and his team allowed us to hold our son's college graduation dinner at this establishment. Jay was so easy to work with on the details and he made sure everything was perfect, right down to using our son's school colors for the plates. Our family commented all night on how wonderful everything was. The food was fantastic and the service was impeccable! We are so lucky to have this gem so close to home. “We stopped at the Red Knight in Stockton Il. by chance on the way to Rockford. It was so reasonable and good that we stopped on the way back home to Iowa. The menu is extensive and the price is very reasonable. We didn't try the Italian Beef but it looked fantastic as well. The place was very clean and the daytime staff was very friendly. “We are from out of town and had heard great reviews from some of the other people in the area, so we stopped in. They did not disappoint!!! The variety of food is impressive!! The gentleman who was our server was very friendly and shared things to do in the area. Unfortunately, my engine light came on as we were nearing the restaurant, so I called the auto shop in town and they said i could run over and they’d scan it, so I ducked out before the food came intending to return (leaving my family there). They said the gentleman was still super nice and when I didn’t return for a while (ordering parts), they packed my food to go. ? The even more impressive part - we were unaware that they closed from 2-4 and we walked in at 1:58. They were so gracious about allowing us to stay - we kept saying we could come back, but they encouraged us to stay. My family agreed the food was wonderful - fresh and hot. Even though I had to eat mine after we got back to the campground, the food was still delicious. Can’t recommend this place highly enough - I wish we lived closer; we’d be here all the time!”

“I ordered 9 total orders in one sitting for curbside pick up today because rewards only allows you to order one thing at a time and they not only brought it out to me all at once, saving bags and time, but managed to get everything correct! And we modified a lot of it. For ordering multiple modified orders of one item at a time they managed to keep track of every item and get it all correct and I’m amazed. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I apologized for the inconvenience and explained the situation and they smiled and said it made sense of why we had so many orders and didn’t have any issues whatsoever. McDonald’s, I hope you’re paying these employees what they’re worth!”
