The first thing that I noticed about Amerikas was the super lively and bright ambiance. I went I on a Saturday night with my wife, so I wasn't surprised by all of the people dining and having a good time, and as I ate my dinner I definitely learned why. The decor is bright and fun. The walls are lined by mutuals, mostly yellow, with big splashes of color. I liked how then kept the lights on to keep the atmosphere bright and fun. The food was delicious too. My wife and ordered the pulpo, barbacoa, tacos (shrimp and pork shoulder), tostada de pescado, ceviche and the dragon fruit cheesecake for dessert. I enjoyed all of the dishes, my favorites were the barbacoa and the pulpo. The barbacoa was super flavorful and fell right off the bone, no knife was need. The pulpo was cooked to perfection and was tender and delicious. The risk with pulpo is that it can be chewy and tough, definitely not the case here. One note, the tostada for the tostada de pescado seem a bit too dry, but the flavor of fresh seafood made up for it. If you want a fun show with your food, order the ceviche, it comes out with a cool smoke effect. Overall, the service was fast and friendly, and the overall experience at the restaurant was enjoyable. While they don't have a parking lot, street parking is cheap (at least compared to Chicago) and plentiful. Amerikas is a must visit in Oak Park.

So the crab cakes are pretty good. Light and soso on the sauce that they put with the plate. Not bad brussel sprouts are good af. I had the cilantro taco. It was good too. Only thing I could complain about is not getting my water refilled. The hostess filled the people glasses up on the table next to us. Looked @ mines in the please refill position and left. Food was good. Water refills could be better

Wow, what a hidden gem this place is!! Ambiance, when you walk in you're met with beautiful decor, amazing smells of yummy foods, and friendly smiling staff...and a gorgeously decorated and fully stocked bar area. The service: It was superb. Our waitress was very attentive, full of great suggestions and even offered us a free sample of the delicious soup in the cutest little cups. The Aesthetics: clean, beautifully unkept and decorated, a fun, sleek and chic layout. Perfect for a date with your love or besties. The food: Everything we had to beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. I mean wow, I cannot wait to come back to taste it all. I really enjoyed it and so did my partner. We are looking forward to coming back again to try other menu items. We may become regulars here, because the options are endless. I highly recommend for fresh, healthy and delicious drinks and meals. Que rico!

We neglected Amerikas for over a year after moving back to Oak Park and regretted it once we gave it a try. Every single thing we ate was incredible! What looked like a medium-smallish portion wound up being VERY filling, so I could see myself coming back to just get a starter for lunch too. Oh, and the mocktails aren't just juice! Serious bonus points for that.

I love the food which is an upscale latin presentation but with such immense flavors-this is NOT your average mexican restaurant. It's an interesting menu wherein the plates are designed to be shared but don't think "tapas" as the portions are much larger. We find it fun to order a couple and share. Service is always fun and prompt, the ambiance/decor has got a very warm vibe, and the wine selection is excellent. The only negative that I can think of is that during dinner service when the place gets going, it can become a bit loud. Definitely not a place I would recommend for kids. As far as food is concerned, I have yet to have anything that wasn't great however I will admit that the carne asada is some of the best that I've tasted (I've actually had it several times) and the Pulpa is always cooked to perfection (we've had that one more than once too). Finally, the Chile Relleno has got to be one of the most creative and interesting preparations I've ever seen (and tasty AF too!). We are glad that this restaurant opened here in Oak Park when it did several years ago, kept itself opened through Covid, and is still doing its thing. It's an honor to have such a unique, one of a kind restaurant here in the Village!

I had the chicken jibaritos sandwich and fries and it was phenomenal. The chicken was basted in a yummy sauce & was shredded for ease of eating. The place was pretty busy for a weekday lunch, but the service was quick. Very nice art on the walls.

Delicious food. Tasteful. Love the mini soups they give you to start, they're Delicious. We loved both breakfast and dinner. Dinner is a bit pricey but worth the money. We have been here multiple times.Parking: Paid street parking. There is also a garage near by (steps away, really closed) the first hour is free.
