Stayed at the Lodge had had two dinners and two breakfast meals in the dining room. Food was good and fairly priced. Walleye was probably the best choice of all. Service was great - we were there mid week with a light crowd.
I do love this restaurant as it is a classic and is a staple for visitors to the starved rock state park. The wait staff's service is generally great but I wouldn't say that necessarily about the staff that greets you at the door. The menu is good and they do try to accommodate different dietary needs. The ambience is amazing - it has a beautiful fireplace and nice rustic feel inside.

Rustic environment with huge fire place. Very comfortable and friendly staff. The food is on the pricey side but if you spend the night that, there is not too many choices nearby. However, Sunday brunch was really good. Lots of choices, made to order omelet, carving station, desserts...
