“We ordered takeout and the food was delicious! Great chicken, great ground beef, delicious salsa (mild). Also, for those who like shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes with their food, both were fresh (not the wilted, tired stuff some places serve).“
“A small, dark restaurant (hence the name "Hideaway") for a cozy dinner. Dined here with my uncle and auntie, and had a very nice meal. We started off with sharing the cheese squares which were by far my favorite. Lightly fried, not too greasy, melty and gooey. I had a crispy side salad brought to me first as part of my meal. The blue cheese dressing tastes homemade and was very good. The salad is just a small plate of ice berg lettuce cut into pieces, nothing to write home about. The fried pickles appetizer was just meh, not sure if it was the breading that was underwhelming or that they were too salty. Not crispy enough. My main meal was Shrimp (grilled) and hash browns - ! - on the side. Hash browns as a dinner side dish?? YES please. I inhaled it. The shrimp was served on a skewer and were enormous pieces, perfectly grilled. It is a menu catering to the carnivores mostly, lots of steak and pork. If I didn't eat fish or seafood I would have been in bad shape as I don't think there was a vegetarian item on the menu (besides salad). Very limited if you don't eat any of the above. They also have chicken. It is a popular local place, and my parents used to frequent here back in the 70s and 80s. It is not my favorite place in the area due to the limited pescatarian/vegetarian items on the menu, but it is good food and service overall.“
“The food here is always amazing. I've yet to have anything here I don't love. That said, tonight Bethany elevated what was already a consistently wonderful experience. She's a ture treasure in a trove of already great talent they've hired (and notably kept for a long time). It's a big deal to make great food. It's a huge deal to have happy and positive staff who makes us feel welcome and happy. 10/10!“
“Surprised by the food here. It looks like ordinary Chinese buffet but tastes really authentic (maybe the ingredients makes difference). Everything is fresh even the deserts. For the price you pay, you would be wrong. My kids ask to be back again!“
“Came here for the first time and was blown away by the food. The onion rings are the best in 25+ miles for sure. I also got the 1877 burger, and it was COOKED TO PERFECTION. This place is absolutely so cute, with VERY reasonable prices and absolutely worth it.“
“Hidden gem. Small house converted to restaurant, but don't let that fool you. The food and service are excellent. From the salad to the appetizers, everything I have tried has been very good. Steak was properly cooked and very good. Seafood and pasta was excellent as well. Will be returning regularly when I'm in town.“
