Salad Restaurants near River Forest

“After being charmed out of my panties by the Noodles & Company location downtown Chicago, I sought out the nearest location to my neighborhood which happened to be this location in River Forest. Along with bookmarking, I even joined the Noodles Rewards program which came in handy during this visit. My visit came at the spur of the moment after leaving work before nearing the Dwight D. Eisenhower Expressway. Rather than exit off of Eisenhower Expressway, I headed for this location via Harlem Ave. I loved that there are plentiful parking spots available not just within its space alone, but within the plaza as well which has alternatives. Even with more knowledge of the menu compared to my initial experience at the downtown location, I had only one item on my mind to order. The LEANguini Fresca with IMPOSSIBLE Chicken which has become my go-to option from Noodles & Company. I ordered a Spindrift Sparkling Water - Mango Orange along with my LEANguini Fresca which was completed in no more than five minutes, and I was well on my way. I wasted no time eating the LEANguini Fresca with IMPOSSIBLE Chicken after taking pictures to share on yelp; it was definitely satisfying as I expected it to be. Going forward, I just cannot see myself ordering it without IMPOSSIBLE Chicken because its taste would not be the same along with its visual appeal in my opinion. Along with the location downtown Chicago, I would gladly consider visiting and ordering from this location in River Forest again. Atmosphere: 4 | Service: 5 | Food: 4 Recommendations: Buttered Noodles, Penne Rose, Wisconsin Mac & Cheese, Pasta Fresca, Pesto Cavatappi, Spaghetti with Marinara, LEANguini Rosa with IMPOSSIBLE Chicken or LEANguini Fresca. Other recommendations: Thoroughly looking at the menu which lists what items are vegetarian, gluten sensitive, or spicy. “I love to get a half sandwich with s soup here. Their bread is delicious too. There is plenty of parking at this location. The only reason I marked down the atmosphere is it gets a little chaotic in there during peek hours. Personally I wouldn’t go there to eat and work but again; great selection of food choices.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of food choices for kids. Great menu.“

“We went to Farm Bar last night with another couple and it was so delicious I had to write a review. We started with the cheese curds and we all agreed that they are the best we have ever had. Then we had the salad that was on the Specials list. It was a smear of ricotta cheese with butter lettuce, peas, asparagus, watermelon radishes and a very light, tasty vinaigrette dressing. So fresh and flavorful. The owner came by our table and has a huge farm in Wisconsin so everything is so fresh and menu changes with seasons. My husband had the catfish. He is a southern boy and he loved it. Huge portion as well! Two of us had the cavatelli. Fresh pasta and layered with textures and flavors. And one of us had the burger. He said it was a great burger. Service was very friendly and we didn't feel rushed. Highly recommend Farm Bar!! Can't wait until the summer and the rooftop opens.“

“Loved it! Stopped by after a movie for some light dinner, and left very satisfied! The Takoyaki were delicious, as were the Toyko and Shogun donburi. The server was very good, efficient and polite. The kitchen got our food out quickly and our dishes were plated carefully and in a visually appealing way - the impression we got was that the whole staff really cares about what they are doing. My favorites: - any of the savory meat croissants - egg sandwich - any of the meat strombolis - salted caramel donut - gingersnap molasses cookie - twice-baked almond croissant - vegan dark chocolate banana bread with pecans - Two falls ago there was this amazing apple cider bearclaw donut thing. I haven't seen it since in the pastry case, but I can still taste its awesomeness in my mouth and hope it will one day return. Everything here is so moist and magical. The flavors in each dish are vibrant and sometimes surprising ... it's an experience I expect at a Michelin starred restaurant, but from takeout. Wtf.“

“I Initially had a bad experience with this place, but the manager reached out to me and rectified the issue. The second time i had the food here, it was great!(both the chicken kabob and zinger wrap). Definitely recommend. “We had high expectations since all the reviews we’d read had been very positive. We were not disappointed. The apple salad was indeed huge and delicious and the tavern style pizza was perfect. Super thin and crispy and the sausage was glorious, not greasy at all and full of fennel seed flavor. Josh(one of the owners)took our order and chatted with us. He was extremely welcoming and kind. Even brought us glasses for the bottle of wine we brought with us. We also tried the Superman ice cream, which I hadn’t heard of before, that too is made in house and was delicious. There are 3 booths that fit 4 for seating and also just enough room for ordering at the counter and for people waiting for takeout and delivery orders. We went on Friday and were able to grab a table when we arrived around 5:30. Within 30-45 minutes, the other tables were occupied as well. “I am a very huge fan of smaller scale restaurants that can be found hiding in the city. Family-owned businesses are typically the ones that have the best food because they do not necessarily look into mainstreaming menus and recipes. with smaller restaurants, you can typically find amazing price opportunities as well as some unique food that has not been released to the broad market. It almost makes locations like this become a treasure if you come across them. Huge shout-out for Lola's. Amazing dogs, burgers, shakes! give them a try when you get the chance. For me, it was worth every penny!“
