“This place is great. They only offer two main dishes and those change daily. The food is really good, and the cost for a full meal is a suggested $10. The proceeds go to run the place, and help people with food insecurity. So if you don't have the cash, you can pay less. Or volunteer for free meals. It's such a great service to the community.Vegetarian options: There is always a vegetarian option.“
“This is pure coffee house Americana at its finest. The building has its magic, but it's the people that make you believe. Erin runs this slice of yesterday with lots of love, passion, and professionalism. The food and coffee bring you in. The service brings you “
“I would have to say from my experience any place close by a casino is going to be good food. This place is located in the casino itself along with two other restaurants. The waitress was very attentive making sure I had what I needed. I ordered the Ruben sandwich alone and it was on the bar in front of me in like minutes.... steaming hot and delicious!“
“I stopped here with my boyfriend on the way out of town. We both had quiche (different kinds), and both were just fantastic. We also both had the Cream of Mushroom soup and loved it. Further, the service is excellent. We had a hiccup with our order, and when we pointed it out, the owner personally made sure it was immediately made right. This is a five star place. I can’t wait to come back.“
“I wasn't sure if the inside area was available for dine-in so I waited in the queue for the drive-in. Once at the window, the ladies told me to come inside to enjoy my breakfast.I got a hot Almond Joy latté which definitely tasted like the candy bar but was also not too sweet! The chorizo breakfast burrito was so good! The cheese was perfectly melted throughout! I wish I would have gotten a video.I also got a pup cup for my dog at home as well as some house-made treats. He loved them all! There were only two people working, and they hustled! They were so busy but they were still super friendly and got everything out in a timely manner. Highly recommend!“
“I saw this on my way home and decided to stop in. They were surprisingly not busy at 7 am. The café is beautifully set-up with plenty of seating for remote workers, students, or friends meeting up. The staff was super nice and patiently answered all of my questions as a first-timer.I got a seasonal drink, the Cindy Lou. It was an espresso drink flavored with lavender, mint, and vanilla cream. I also got the Heavenly Mama breakfast sandwich which was egg, bacon, gouda, tomato, and aioli on a brioche. Both items were so good! The coffee didn't seem to be over-roasted like most places and they didn't inundate it with syrup. The drink was adequately sweet, and not overly so. I also bought a cookie which is made locally by a small vendor. Everything was delicious! Will definitely be back!“
“Had a couple hours to kill during a business trip to Moline. Checked out Dead Poets for breakfast and coffee. Service and food were awesome. Good gluten free options. I'm normally a basic coffee guy but ordered "the poe" and it was excellent. Will def check out next time I'm in the Quad Cities.“
“Giving 4 stars because I am espresso snob and I felt the espresso could have been stronger. My americano was very weak tasting and watery. Food, staff, and other items are great. I had an energy drink most recently, and it wasn't too sweet like other places in the area. I enjoyed it!“
“amazing food and people!! great lil cafe -always a smiling waitress . and Tommy is always there ringing you out when you're stuffed full and paying your check. CASH only-but thats the way it should be!! Gonna miss this place ..but will be back when we visit for sure.. BEST PASTRIES EVER!!“
“Proof that those who say, 'there is nothing to do in the QC' are miserably ignorant at best or a liar, damned by [email protected] options: Not a place that serves portions for a square meal & a snack to take home. This goes for the entire Bill of Fare. They focus on QUALITY. NOT! QUANTITY!Dietary restrictions: If YOU are reasonable, then they will REASONABLY accomadate your dietary restrictions.Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly patio & garden-like space for those children SENSIBLE & PRUDENT enough to BEHAVE.“
