I don’t really give reviews but this one is well deserved. Omg! The food is so delicious here. The people were very nice, professional and helpful. I’m from Houston, Tx and was just out on a Sunday looking for a brunch spot and saw this gem on TikTok. I got the baked chicken with sweet potatoes, cornbread and Mac-n-cheese. I can’t wait until they open on Wednesday. This will definitely be my new spot.Parking: The parking was great. No parking fees and plenty of parking spots.

When I say I’ve been living in the Rockford area since 2003 off and on and I’ve never had the treatment that I had a Sonny’s Place their food was phenomenal the service was excellent even the music was on point I highly recommend eating here the owner jerriah came out and introduced herself her it was totally a honor to be able to experience such a great environment and amazing food……… Stepper get your shoes ready she have something brewing so be ready!!!!

I had the chicken and waffles. I don't like anything on my chicken so I'm glad I asked for it to be just plain friend chicken. They cooked more chicken for me but it was tasty. A bit light on the seasoning, but still good. My sister had the catfish sandwich and that was very good. The fish was very crispy and flavorful. I will be getting that the next time I stop through there. My daughter's chicken tenders were also good and flavorful. Hopefully I'll get to try their Sunday brunch menu. They were not having it when we went there.

Had the catfish sandwich yesterday and it's the real deal. It had that genuine course cornmeal coating that you just can't find in No IL. Restaurant is extremely clean and staff very friendly and accommodating. We'll be back!

great food, even better environment. so nice to see good music celebrated in rockford. had the shrimp and grits, and it was some of the best i’ve had. will definitely return to try the catfish.

I love Sonny’s their chicken and waffles r the best. The catfish is good too. I only have one complaint they are slow . Put a order in last Friday at 10:45 and at 11:30 still wasn’t ready it wasn’t ready till 12. But other then that I will alway frequent their business. They r friendly and you get that hometown inviting feeling from the staff .

Nice atmosphere, the time for a fresh cooked breakfast was worth the wait. Very affordable coming in at almost the same price as running through the drive thru. Fun addition to the edgebrook center and the Rockford food scene.

the food was nasty, first there wasn’t no menu to look at. Second, the credit card swipe wasn’t working. third, I order French toast, and my French toast was real soft. I order hash browns, that was greasy. The bacon was to hard. I will never go back there.
