I went there this morning for a coffee and bagel with cream cheese. I ordered my coffee and then tried to order my bagel, the girl behind the counter said, “we aren’t serving food today, I’m the only one working.” I mean she was sitting down when I walked in, and I was the only customer. She was not busy at all. I guess I will not be going there anymore, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Just bad service all around.

Fun coffee shop in downtown Rockford that has a small menu but lots of flavor. In the City Market on Madison at State is this place to get something cold or hot. Velvet Robot has this location along with another one in town. Mostly it's coffee on the menu. They at times have food, but there's other cafes in this building if you have to eat something. Came in here in the morning to get coffee. It's about $5 for one of the seasonal ones. The prices are higher than typical chain places. Had some fall flavors the last time here. I got the Pumpkin Pie Latte. Tasted mostly like coffee but a little like pumpkin. Also the cold brews are popular if you want any. This makes it a good place for summer or any time you feel like. Getting coffee is the main thing here. It has limited times when there's food, but there's a bakery as well as a couple of cafes next to it. There's a dining area where you can come from any of these and have breakfast, lunch, or whatever.

Coming from a coffee hater, the iced coffee is delicious. Sam recommended the Banana Stand on my first time in and boy did he get me hooked. The breakfast sandwiches are also incredible, big portions and cooked to perfection.
Another big plus is how kid friendly this location is (Alpine)! My tweens love it and I can’t wait to bring my toddler for a special chocolate milk.

The bagel was great - nice and warm with a good amount of cream cheese (the way it’s supposed to be!) LOL ..give it try if you haven’t there is something for everyone to try!

Super cute, cozy, creative, and modern cafe. The drinks were super good, and the food was really fresh. I loved looking at the local art, and they even have a little gaming system that you can try and beat everyone else’s high score in. This super awesome horse mural was also nearby.
