Flew from Reno to Chicago to see my son play lacrosse in the Milwaukee area. Had to stay in Chicago over night due to problems with our rental car. Happen to stay right next to Frannie"s Beef. So glad we stopped for a Italian beef and sausage combo sandwich. I have been craving a good italian beef sandwich since my last trip to Chicago. This place is an icon. Definitely will be stopping here again.

Ordered Italian Beef catered for around 20 people. The cost was unbelievably reasonable and it was delicious. Everyone in attendance, all but one of who have never visited Chicago, raved about the food.

I believe they are passing off pork hot dogs as beef . $9 down the drain worst tasting hot dog I've had since I stopped eating pork . I called to ask whether the dogs were beef or not , and was greeted on the phone with the proverbial "huh" ? A sign to me that someone is thinking of telling a lie LOL
I came across this famous place just by luck, food was delicious the owner and sons are super welcoming the Italian sandwich was amazing.

I am an Italian beef enthusiast. Possibly even an aficionado. This was perfection. Perfect beef - awesome giardiniera. Maybe the best I've ever had on both counts. Lean, tasty, and juicy and the hots were fresh tasting and vibrant. Supreme tamales - as good as Tom Toms, old brand. Necessity for an old school beef place. Actual cut potatoes for fries! Italian ice solid. The owners were there (husband / wife) when we visited, which was very nice. I wish this was near to me because I'd probably never go to another beef place again!

I kind of grew up on it.. finally came here to Frannies And it did not disappoint.If I had a side-by-side from this to Jay's beef I don't know if I'd be able to tell the difference.Love their beef love their fries their hot peppers are homemade fresh and delicious.Can't wait to go back!
