This review is strictly about the owner of this place. I just came to see what they have available and she started ranting about how people only buy her products around Christmas and now she has nothing available anymore!! She went on to say " nobody cares that I have a business to run year round not only on holidays.I mean,.really, you want people to buy from you just because you cannot sell enough?! With this attitude, you shouldn't be in business.

Highly recommend - I'm a picky eater and I pay attention to hygiene in a food store - the pastries were super-fresh and delicious

Ordered in advice a pie for easter . When I got there for pick up , they completely forgot about my order . Which was fine . They told me to come back after a few hours because they'll make it for me . It was fine after all . My brother picked it up later on , came home , and the pie was totally different than what i ordered . I called to let them know and explain the situation . They hang up on me . And that was it . Kind of rude and unprofessional . Mistakes happen , but own it . For a regular day , you don't care that much . But it was easter time for us .Disappointed .

Every time I get food from this place, I end up like "vaca in lucerna", I just can't stop eating.

I'm not Romanian, and I have no connection to Eastern European food whatsoever. Transylvania Kitchen knocked it out of the park. I learned of Ciorba de Burta (tripe soup) doing travel research and I couldn't find any to try in Chicago. Tangy and hearty, this is worth the drive. The staff was friendly, even though they seemed to not necessarily know what baked goods they had in stock. Regardless I have full confidence that anything available is delicious and made with care.

Ill preface this by saying I am very home sick. This place is everything I wanted and more. They have amazing pastries and you can also get some traditional cooked food. Most food is sold in larger portions so it's great if you are ordering for the holidays. The cozonac is delicious and they are so beautiful. Definitely recommend trying them even if you aren't Romanian. It's like a delicious sweet bread and it's amazing with coffee in the morning. Overall really happy and the service was great they were very nice Definitely will come back whenever we visit Chicago.

A little on the expensive side. Food not so home made. I wish they used traditional ingredients. For example, no artificial vanilla, no artificial sugar, and no vegeta.
