Food is just ok. It's fun because it's downtown but way better options for mexican around here.

Friends of ours have been telling us about this for years, so after a basketball game at NIU the group went over to give it a try. I got the Ultimate Margarita, which is one of the best margaritas I have ever had. I ordered the Taxco Burrito, which are actually three mini burritos. I got the chicken and it was excellent. My one son got chicken fajitas and he loved them. My other son was disappointed a bit. He ordered beef tacos and received ground beef. I think it was that he failed to order "steak" tacos. The chips are very good and they give you both mild and hot salsa. The mild was flavorful but very mild. The hot had a real kick to it, but was excellent. Next time I may mix them and come up with a medium salsa. Service was excellent as well. It wasn't that crowded for a Saturday evening, surprisingly. The food was so good I brought home a Taxco Burrito for my wife to enjoy, It was enough for dinner and them leftovers for lunch. This is a really good choice if you love traditional Mexican.

Forgot how much I liked this place.We've been here twice recently.Nachos, shrimp tacos and black bean soup was great. Food is quality and fresh. Server was excellent and nice. Love, love the classic margaritas on the rocks. Clara, the Server was great!

Very impressed with the menu items, our lunch was delicious. Braised beef tacos with a side of the Diablo sauce for added kick and a combo plate were both perfect. The Margarita’s were excellent as well. Friendly staff, cozy cantina atmosphere made for a great afternoon stop.

Lately I’ve been getting the Bistec Oaxaca and it’s always perfectly cooked and juicy, my vegan fiancé gets the tacos de hongos and loves them. The premium margarita doesn’t taste like alcohol at all but I PROMISE they pour them strong, just delicious. Can’t say enough good about Taxco. My favorite restaurant in Sycamore.Dietary restrictions: Vegan friendly

Solid Mexican food. We make tacos or burritos weekly and ours are good. However, Taxco chimichangas are outstanding and their combos are always on point. Family (with picky kids) approved!!!
