“We dined late on a Sunday night at the end of a very busy weekend for the staff-both Mother's Day and graduation weekend for UIUC. Service was attentive but food was slow coming out, but that was understandable due to the crowd they accommodated all weekend. All wait staff we encountered were professional and still smiling at the end of what was a very busy day for them. It was our first time dining here and we would definitely return.“

“A group of 4 had dinner here. Food is good, but our server wasn't very friendly. Having a pleasant and informative waiter makes all the difference. Also, for bills over $100, an automatic 20% tip is put on the bill. I can understand for a large party, but putting an automatic 20% tip on the bills over $100, is a turnoff for me. If the server is pleasant and checks on us, waiters at other restaurants we eat at can expect even more than 20%.“

“If you like chicken you have to try this place. Great friendly service and dishes that are generous and sooo delicious. Presentation gastro pub like. Definitely will be back when in Champaign! If you can’t do fried you can substitute same dish with healthier spit roasted chicken.“

“First time customer at your establishment we were at the private party in the back. The bartender was very sweet and gave great selections on drinks. We ordered a few appetizers extra from what was provided for the private event. The chicken wings were crispy and very tasty enjoyed both sauces with the order the blue cheese and creamy hot sauce. The dumplings had great filling and the tangy dipping sauce was so addictive.“

“Smith Burger definitely has the best burgers in town, don't downplay the hot dogs though either. The chili cheese ripper is super good. Then by adding the beer selection of collective pour to this place it is hard to beat. Because it is on the edge of downtown one might say that the location is limiting, but because of the parking right outside it's a pretty great location too.“
“Ok, I went there a couple times in their first couple days of both soft and official opening weekend and I have to say that I do LOVE the retro cool renovations, the special local decor touches and the general ambiance provided by the open-concept room with a mix of seating options, a respectable alternative/alt-country playlist and an ever-friendly staff. Altho they do not yet have skee-ball and other gaming options like the other locations, there are some dart boards and a retro bubble hockey game! The real applause should directed to the beer selections and the down-to-a-science technology inherent to the extensive pour your own / pay-by-the-ounce tap wall. The only glitch was that there was no wine on tap, but that, and the glass-rinsing mechanism, are apparently still in the works. The best part of the set up though is probably the variety - in addition to 2 wines, they will be looking to keep 2 ciders, 2 meads and a hard seltzer or 2, as well as the 15 or so beer taps representing the gamut of styles. I can also say that at least initially, the choices were well thought out and include a couple not found elsewhere locally. In addition to a digital (UnTappd) beer board in front, the thing that may be most helpful for those that prefer to not "do the math", above each tap someone has chalked in a style listing with the equivalent cost (10 or 16-oz depending on style) per glass. I see a good number of whiskey options and am told they have a nice cocktail list too. The ownership/management team behind this 4th central Illinois franchise location seem to be great people and are already entertaining expansion plans. As a fan of what they've done here downtown, hopefully they can avoid the curse(s) the previous establishments ran into at this locale and their focused expedient work will be repaid. If you're looking for some unique refreshment and a cool, downtown vibe...check'em out.“
“I came in a few months ago with a couple of friends, Craig was super nice and accommodating. When I came in a few nights ago as well, he remembered me and had crafted my preferred drink when it wasn’t common, I’m super impressed by his service and cocktail creations. Absolutely would recommend, such a nice environment with wonderful bartenders.“
“I had never been there before this evening. I'm staying here for a few days to work and had noticed this place right here on goigle maps... and chose to stop by. I'm glad that I did. Attentive a courtious barmaid, cold beer, the Buffalo wings and fried cheese curds were actually some of the best that I have had... at a low price. It's a tavern, people in everyday work clothes are welcome here.“

“Located in scenic Thomasboro. Actually, located in the heart of scenic Thomasboro. This is a bar, not unlike any other bar you would find in a town that has but one or two bars. It's got that hint of musty water damage, that you will find in old buildings. A subtle je ne sais quoi, that just makes a small town bar be a small town bar. You can't put your finger on it, but why are they ... exactly what they are? Is it the NASCAR logos throughout the place? Is it the can or bottle of beer that they never sold, but got one bottle of (in this case, Kentucky Horse Piss) (oddly enough, I have an empty bottle of KHP on display with the rest of the bottles at Kridz). Is it the 3 logos? Is it the neon for bud light or miller lite? There's the exact same sights, sounds, smells, and feels of almost every other small town bar. Would I call it a "dive bar", no. For it to be that, there would have to be competition in the same town. This is just "small town bar". Comparing it to CU, yes, this is a dive. But there is no comparison to CU. THIS IS THOMASBORO!!! The prices here are fantastic. It's nearly cheaper to drink here than to drink at the house. Take cash, or use the ATM. Probably easier to just take cash. Go here, you will love it. You may not feel like you are completely welcome on your first visit, but strike up a conversation with the bartender, the next time you go in, it'll be your home bar. Including with the smell of your basement that is mildewed because your sump pump went out the last time that there was a hard rain and you had 3 inches in the basement.“
