“The worse experience I've had here... employee told me 20 minuts which is no biggie however when I'm working(delivery) and you tell them(platform) 7 minuts when I've only been in parking lot for 5min on the phone w my platform that makes me a liar and THAT IM NOT and it angers me to be called one... I'll NEVER GO BACK there or recommend to anyone EVER.“

“There is nothing not to like about this family owned restaurant. The owners make you feel like family. The food is delicious, as close to homemade as possible. They give you a good portion size so we always have leftovers. For the amount of food given, their prices are very resonable and we usually have leftovers. We have been catering our parties since moving to Vernon Hills in 2012. And to be honest, we order very frequently, on those days nobody wants to cook. A great place by far!“

“Usually order for delivery. Food is fantastic. For delivery, the orders are packed really well by wrapping the containers in plastic wrap to avoid spills. Never had a disappointing experience over the last year or so of ordering from The Patroons.“

“I have tried to order birria tacos in the past when visiting on a Friday. I was told it's served only on the weekend. To them this means Saturday and Sunday.We visited on Saturday and ordered 3 birria tacos. I got a plate woth 3 tacos on it but no consomme. I asked at the counter. The young woman walked in the kitchen. There was a hushed conversation and she eventually returned with a little bit of consomme in a styro cup. One of the other women came up and told me "We don't usually give the consomme with the birria tacos. We'll make a special exception this time."I have ordered birria all over this country. LosAngeles, Dallas, Houston, most recently in Franklin, KY. It has always been served with consomme. I've never had to ask for it. I am put off by this. El Rey del Pollo Asado makes good tacos, burritos, and charo beans and I'll be back for them. But is there really any reason to order birria if you have to beg for the consomme? I brought this up to a couple of my Mexican colleagues while we were at lunch and they confirmed what I felt. You order birria. You get consomme.“
