When I visited La Perla Tapatia Bakery, I was reminded of the times when my grandmother sent me to panaderias to bring back bolillos and conchas. The interior of the bakery has aisles filled with a variety of breads. One thing that caught my attention was the display of bolillos piled in a glass box, just like I remember from my grandmother's local panaderia in Mexico. The bakery also offers a selection of coffee, jell-O, along with other tempting pastries, cakes, and breads that I didn't recognize. I believe they might be from different regions of Mexico, which makes me even more curious to try them. For those who may not be familiar, here's a fun fact about "tapatías": Tapatía is a colloquial term used to refer to someone from Guadalajara, Mexico. So, perhaps La Perla Tapatia Bakery is like a little taste of Guadalajara right in this neighborhood(?) The combination of cleanliness, welcoming atmosphere, and classic Mexican breads adds to the overall positive experience at La Perla Tapatia Bakery. I highly recommend this bakery to anyone looking to try something new and immerse themselves in flavors of a Mexican-style bakery.

i Have purchased the chocolate tres leches here in this location but lately every cake is expired. 4 different occasions different dates and the cakes are expired the milk is sour. I Always take the cake back and get a refund, but they don't remove the remaining cakes from the coolers. I spoke to the manager Jose and I told him that the baker should know when and how Long the cake should be good to sell. They only care about making their money not caring if the cake is good or bad.

While grabbing some Hispanic food in the area I decided to stop by this bakery and grab some goodies. The bakery was huge and had such a large selection of pastries! It was honestly a bit overwhelming to choose. I'm not sure I got the best items but I tried to get an assortment for the family. Everything was very cheap and you honestly can't get a better deal than this place. I think I paid about 6-7 dollars for all of this and each item is huge! The Cookie Monster cupcake was just adorable. It got slightly messed up on the trip home but I loved the design, great for a kids birthday party. I was surprised the flavor of the cupcake was actually lemon rather than vanilla and chocolate. It was unique and refreshing. The bread items were sweet and had lots of sugar on top, perfect for that sweet tooth. I will say a lot of the items were fairly dry, like the cupcakes and various bread items but I did go later in the day so they may be fresher in the morning. There are also a ton of other items that could be better, I definitely recommend any one who likes baked goods to check it out!

I love pastries... and as along as I have lived in the area, have walked around the area, I have never set foot into this little gem of a bakery. I needed to get a birthday cake for my nephew's birthday and I didn't want to go to the big box grocery store around my house. The hubby suggested that we go here to pick up a cake. So here was my dilemma, it's a Sunday, it's late afternoon... is it going to be open?! And to our surprise, it was... they are open from 6am until 10pm everyday. We walked in and they were STOCKED with all sorts of cakes for purchase! They had cookies, muffins, pastries, breads... OMG, I was in carb heaven! LOL! We had such a hard time picking out a cake because they had so many to choose from but we picked it and the ladies that worked there were able to add "Happy Birthday" to the cake for us. The hubby also picked up a few other things and honestly, I wasn't sure how much more we were going to pay by coming here but I was pleasantly surprised that we didn't pay through the nose for the cake. I now have my new place for cakes and pastries that is so close to home... that is within walking distance. I cannot wait to pick up some pastries and fresh made breads for a nice breakfast.

If you're looking for disappointment this is your stop! Let me start with the dried out Everything stored in large glass cases. 9/10 times I'm always disappointed. The ice cram used to be descent but the last couple visits it was melted and it was gross. The cakes are always a huge gamble. Gotta get it when it's fresh because some have been there drying out for days with terrible ventilation. When the donuts are fresh they are descent. The new bakery down the street is amazing but really high prices.

I stop by here whenever I want some Mexican pastry, the bread tastes good and around the first week of January you can find the 3 Kings bread. The people are friendly and they have also milk, flan and other things.
