“Stopped by Mazmez Middle Eastern Grill for the first time and wasn’t expecting it to be this good.

Ordered a mixed grill plate and everything came out hot and fresh. The meat was tender with a nice char, and the portions were actually filling. The garlic sauce and hummus were on point.

What I liked most was how consistent everything felt — nothing rushed, nothing off. Staff were welcoming without being over the top.

This is one of those spots you end up adding to your regular rotation.”

“Had dinner last night, great food overall and service, although a bit loud as it is mainly one medium sized open room. The only issue with the meal was the carrot cake we got for dessert which was dry and disappointing. The clam appetizer, beet salad, lobster ravioli, and scallops were wonderful.”

“Hubs and I came last night for an impromptu date night. The holiday décor was absolutely beautiful, you can tell a lot of effort and attention went into it. The staff were all super friendly and helpful! We arrived during the dinner rush, and given it’s the holiday season, I’m sure there’s an uptick in guests, but we were still seated within about 15–20 minutes, which was impressive. There is a one-hour dining limit during this season, I understand they’re turning tables quickly to accommodate everyone, especially having worked in the industry myself. However, I was really disappointed that every single item we ordered was cold. I don’t usually like to complain, so I didn’t mention it at the time, assuming it was just due to how busy the restaurant was. But after reading other reviews, it seems this may be a recurring issue, which is unfortunate. I’m not sure I would return, but on a positive note, the atmosphere was lovely and the staff were wonderful. Hopefully they can work with the kitchen to make sure the food is served hot, because everything else about the experience was great!”

“I love the atmosphere of this cute little cafe in downtown wilmette. It feels cozy, home-y, and made with love. There were unique drink options and I tried the spiced vanilla latte which was good, but not insane. Just a simple cute coffee shop with decent coffee. They also have many food items and a small bakery that looked delicious. The inside looks perfect for getting together with a friend or for a solo date and getting work done. Prices are decent as well! Great place to check out! ☕☺💞👌”

“I’m a foodie, always down to explore unique flavors. And this place has many. Cafe con Leche, figs with cognac, Merlot with berries -YES! That one was my favorite. The authenticity of coffee and wine was very interesting to find in ice cream. The only thing I missed was the basic, crispy cones (they might’ve been out I didn’t ask) - the ones they had were way too sweet.”

“I normally don’t eat hamburgers. I try to be gluten-free and don’t eat that much bread. But I had the hamburger with the bun at the lawn and I’m so glad I did. It was one of the best hamburgers I’ve ever had.”

“This place is extremely excellent for anyone who knows how good a Chicago dog is, even if you don’t want a Chicago dog, they have plenty of other options that simply surpass any other classic diners. Not only do they keep their food fresh and delicious. They also have the most experienced workers I’ve ever seen, working here for over 2 decades each and every one of them. Making sure everyone gets the proper preparations for their food. Would 100% recommend anyone who is either visiting Chicago, or hasn’t tried this place. Irving’s does it like no one else simply because of experience and also knowing almost all there costumers personally. Not to mention they’ve been open for over 50 years now! Also the nostalgia for all those old timers who wanna take a blast in the past! Highly recommend and would eat here again.”

“I ordered salad with prosciutto. I was surprised at the portion. I wasn't expecting a full size plate. The romaine lettuce was fresh and crunchy. Orange segments where plenty, plump and so pleasant. The prosciutto cut was also rather large and thick. I love that the it was served in atoneware as opposed to plastic or paper plate. Cutlery is also metallic. The crookie is also delicious and had already come back for another lol. Dining area is clean and has a trendy layout.”

“I ordered the Chicken Burrito, and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was fresh, tender, and clearly well-marinated — every bite bursting with flavor and perfectly wrapped in a warm, soft tortilla. You can truly taste the quality and care in the preparation.
I also tried the Steak and Shrimp Tacos, and they were equally impressive. The steak was juicy and seasoned to perfection, while the shrimp were plump, fresh, and cooked just right. Each taco had that perfect balance of texture and spice that makes you want to order another round.”

“Dairy Queen in Wilmette is amazing! For my son’s birthday, we asked them to add ‘Pororo The Penguin’ on his ice cream birthday cake. They hand drew it on for my son. That is truly above and beyond anything I could ask for! At other bakeries, they will print the image and place it onto the cake, but this was hand drawn-Wow! Thank you to the artist, Grace I believe. It was perfect. My son LOVES Pororo! He had THE BIGGEST smile and kept jumping up and down at how happy he was. When asked on a scale of 0-10 how much he loves the cake- he said 100! I agree. The staff are always so nice and work so hard. Thank you so much!”

“Why do you keep going back if “every time you go” there is a problem? That’s seems crazy. I believe if they make a drink incorrectly they will remake it with a smile on their face. If they don’t have an ingredient what do expect them to do? I really like this location, they are friendly and are working hard to serve you. Out of Oatmilk? Have you addressed this with management? Maybe there is a shortage, transportation issues? Seems to me you just want to complain about workers who are making you something you don’t want to make for yourself. BE KIND is how I was brought up, what happened to you?”

Glad I stopped in at this location on the way back down. Amazing service and the Italian was executed perfectly. Highly recommend.”
