Y’all need to visit Taverna Naxos in Wilmette and have an Aphrodite‘s Kiss made by Rosanna. It’s their Greek version of an Old Fashioned and is truly fantastic. Follow that up with the Baby Back Ribs (no bbq sauce in sight or needed) and you’ll be anxious to return. Say hi to Naxos’s manager, Suzanne, who will make sure you enjoy your visit.

Nice casual dining. Good simple menu Had the chicken kabobs and was very tasty and flavorful Had the chicken soup and it was hearty Service was a touch slow Overall would definitely come back and give it another shot! Need to figure out the service with the two floors and should have a bartender upstairs but like the place!

I went there with my husband recently. Everything was excellent, from the food to the service to the ambiance. FILET OF SALMON and FILET MIGNON SOUVLAKI KABOB were excellent, the service was prompt and friendly, and the ambiance was welcoming and warm. We had a great time and will definitely return soon.

We have now dined twice at this fairly recently opened Greek Tavern just north of Evanston. The food is excellent. Squid appetizers, the moussaka, lemon rice soup, all great! I had the sea bass which is grilled whole and then fileted at the table by your server, if you wish. So so good! Others at the table had some of the other dishes that I mentioned above, plus the lamb shank and the lamb chops. Only raves! Recommend reservations especially on weekend nights and don't wait to try this amazing new Greek restaurant on the north side!

I love Greek food and it's very exciting to have this restaurant nearby. The service could not have been more attentive or gracious. Everyone was so accommodating. I loved the warm rolls with homemade hummus to begin the meal. The olives were absolutely amazing. Greek wines were perfect. My only disappointment is with the lack of vegetarian options for an entree. I created my own out of side dishes and appetizers but for people avoiding meat, seafood or animal products in general, this place is rather difficult. It would also be great if there was olive oil on the table. Other than that, the space is small but lovely. It's best to come when it's not so crowded. We will definitely be back!

Let's just say it's obvious they have no Greeks in the kitchen. You can tell some is frozen or from a can. Not worth the price.

Big fan. Best pastitsio I've ever had. Even while in Athens. Really nice decor and the staff was great. Love the vibe and it's just over the border from Evanston. Kalamari was lightly breaded and delish. Not super heavy. Fresh squid. Big bean dish was good. Greek salad was very fresh. Def going back to try the kabobs.

Cute though spare decor. Shrimp was very good as was the salad. Steak kabobs were fine but nothing special. A little pricey for the North Shore. Service was solid. Agree with another reviewer that charging for soda refills is annoying. Cocktails were so so. Overall worth stopping in if you are in the area.

We loved our dinner at Tavern Naxos - we've been wanting to try it since it opened and it did not disappoint! It was difficult to choose what to get because everything on the menu sounded good. It offers elevated authentic Greek dishes - no gyros here. We decided on the fried zucchini, beet salad, moussaka, stuffed tomato, and baklava with Homer's ice cream for dessert. They also have great sounding fish and steak dishes. Our server was friendly, attentive and professional. Each dish was expertly timed with an artful presentation. The beet salad was colorful with plenty of yellow and red beets, pears, and pistachios. The moussaka and stuffed tomato were spiced with fresh herbs to give a layered taste experience. The baklava with Homers ice cream on the side was the best way to end our meal. We went on NYE and the dining room was full with more people seated on a second floor. The atmosphere is beautiful and we were lucky to sit at the window table - it really made for a special meal to end 2023. We're looking forward to more in 2024!

Νόστιμο! This is the most delicious dinner out I’ve had since actually traveling to Greece last summer. We had the octopus appetizer and it was fantastic. I had the squid entree (kalamaria) and it was also fantastic!! Can’t recommend this restaurant enough if you’re craving cephalopod. The restaurant is quite small, but the service and atmosphere were good. Highly recommend!

Small place squeezes in lots of tables. Great dinner menu incl varied appetizers and entrees of meat (beef, veal, lamb), fowl, fish and traditional Greek dishes. Maître D Jonathan very accommodating. Will definitely return.

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at your restaurant. The atmosphere was welcoming. There is a small bar area to order a drink and wait for your table We were glad to have a reservation since it was busy. We were seated quickly and at a comfortable table. Service was very good. The food was a treat for the taste buds.Thank you for a special night.Kid-friendliness: There were some children but the tables are close to each other. I see it as an adult restaurant.
