The pastries are delicious and inexpensive. I can get a huge platter of cookies and rolls in many different flavors for $20. We especially like the "bolillos rellenos" and the 10" round cornbread. The staff are helpful and patient when I test out my beginner Spanish. When you go in, grab a platter and a pair of tongs then get to work deciding what you want!
The papusas were good, but the service was awful. They don't have come in a bit like most papuserias or Mexican restaurants. We all had to order twice just to get what we wanted. I got half of my food only an hour after I ordered it. The other half came three hours later. They are also very conservative with their cabbage and sauce. Their closing time is not a set time.
