“My wife and I have become regulars at Essence. We discovered this wonderful gem of a restaurant in Elkhart shortly after they opened, and we have not hesitated spreading the word. Both my wife and I enjoy fine dining, and living in a small town one would think that you would have to travel to Chicago to find sure offerings, but since the opening of Essence, Elkhart is blessed to have the same level food and service right here!!! The facility is absolutely beautiful and the view overlooking the river is spectacular as well. I love that the staff recognizes us and greets us by our names and they even walk us out to the door after our meal. Essence never disappoints, and they always exceed my
high expectations with their ever changing offerings! Cheers! -”

(Okay, exaggerated a bit) But Service, (By Laura) was friendly, prompt, and frequent! The menu? OMG! What looks MORE MMMMM? I had Cam Cam Shrimp Tacos in soft shells with ELOTE Corn Side. OH....MY....GOD! Delicious The Tacos? STUFFED with large, crispy-fried Shrimp I could die for! $$? Yeah a bit, but OMG, big-time WORTH it in Spades, Diamonds, Hearts, and Clubs! I WILL be back! SOON! “Great little brewery. Loved the atmosphere, great food and great drinks. It's a little different than most as when you go in the sign says to seat yourself and go to the bar to order. My Wife and I decided on a jalapeno popper pizza and a Reuben sandwich. We had a beer and a slushy brain freeze. I brought the drinks back to our table and a little while later they brought out our food. I will definitely go back when I'm back in Elkhart. Great food great service and great staff.”

Conversations are very easy to carry on. A very special mention I must make is that Angie is the best of the best! Dianna is second on this list. They can give as good as they take when it comes to teasing them. Ten Thumbs Up for both of them! I also like that one of the televisions carries PAWS tv. For us animal lovers this is yet another great attraction.”

“Our family frequents Indiana at least once a month and this is the breakfast place we look forward to days before the trip. Coffee is hot and steady. They offer plain creamer with addition to flavored creamer on the table (as a flavored coffee creamer person I love this). With notes on each table apologizing for staff issues and a delay being served, our food was ordered within 10 minutes and received within 20 minutes (table of 4). 30 minutes total for our food was exceptional. The food is always hot and delicious. Prices are very reasonable for the portions. Staff is always nice and friendly as well as quick with checking on customers. Fruit depends on what is available for the season and is fresh and tasty. This place is definitely worth the stop after our 14 hour drive.”

“Love the egg rolls. My typical to go dinner order is 3 egg rolls with red sauce. These are amazing and freshly made. China Star has been in business for years. Other items that I order are chicken fried rice, Mongolian beef or broccoli and beef.

Food is made quick and served hot. Even with the recent increase in prices, my orders are usually under $8.”

“I have had good luck with this Jimmy John’s. Not every order has been perfect but nothing that has made me regret ordering. Today the delivery driver went above and beyond. I spilled my drink just inside my doorway and she stayed to help me clean it up. I’m a paraplegic so cleaning liquids on the floor can be a little tough for me. She even drove back and got me another drink after we cleaned up the one I spilled. I didn’t get her name but she definitely went above and beyond when she didn’t have to do any of it. I appreciate her help and kindness. She’s definitely a keeper.”
