“I haven't lived in Elwood for very long. My mother wanted breakfast, but she didn't want to dine in. I didn't want fast food so I googled local restaurants. Friendly's was first on the list.I called and they could quickly prepare breakfast to go. My mother ordered pancakes with added sausage patties. I ordered a full order of biscuits and gravy.As I initially entered the restaurant, I saw several signs stating they only accepted cash, debit and credit weren't welcome. Hopped back in the van to find an ATM. Returned for our food.The lady behind the counter was talkative and friendly. They were about 1/2 full and everyone seemed to be happy and sociable. Great atmosphere.My mother enjoyed her breakfast and was filled before she could finish. I was quite disappointed with my biscuits and gravy. The gravy looked great and was a good consistency. However, it had far too much pepper. The biscuits were rather small. They tasted good but were a bit dry. I tried a few more bites of mostly biscuit with as little gravy as I could get. Still far too peppery. Inedible. Definitely not happy.Parking: The parking lot is rather small. Some spaces are placed in a way that cars have to be extremely careful not to back into other cars.“
“An evening visit passing through town. fun friendly cohesive group of employees who seem to all enjoy their jobs and work well together. Quick conscientious manager noticed my Sunday was a little melty and immediately had it remade. It's nice to see a business with a group of young hard-working people. ?“
“I did a search for Vegan food near airport and it let me to MJ's. The staff is informative and friendly, Andrea helped me out today and she was a delight. The atmosphere here is open, modern and comfortable. They had nice, seasonal decorations throughout the dining room and in the tables. So cute! Now to the real reason I stopped in...the food! They have so many vegan options and it was nice to be able to have breakfast. They had a couple specials and I chose the Pumpkin Pie French Toast. It wasn't too sweet, it was just right. I paired it with a Hazelnut Oatmilk latte and could not be more pleased. I highly recommended this spot, vegan or not.“
“We moved to Indianapolis so we don't visit as much as we used to. My son loves this place though; insists that we stop every time we are in town. We stopped there last week after a funeral. All four of us got ice cream & it was under $20. Even though we only asked for single scoops, the serving sizes were more than fair. Would definitely recommend!“
