I had my double visit. First and last.

Awesome, as always! Love the fried mushrooms & home cooking. But our personal favorites are the brain sliders - a crispy delicacy they are known for.

This place is simply awesome. The food is comfort food with old world Germany traits. The building is a historic old building and is uniquely decorated and well kept and clean. The service is outstanding. All of the staff are fast, courteous, and professional. Very friendly people that are likely their regulars will be here when you come. It is easy to find using Google Maps.

Ordered Burgoo and 1/2 order livers/gizzards. Burgoo was delicious. The livers and gizzards were AMAZING! Will definitely be ordering them again.

Normally love this place. But tried the fiddlers today. Very disappointed. Was charged $18 for 2 very small pieces and 2 sides. Then the fish was not good. Tastes like they used the same oil as they fry chicken. Also, the batter was very bland. The service was excellent, the restaurant was clean. But skip the fiddlers, stay with the chicken.

I was looking forwaed to arrending specials for Marti Gra. It totally sucked. A friend and I went. The gumbo was totally was pure water with the exception of 3 shrimps. Tried the crawfish, totally gross. I'm so disappointed for EvansvilleGet a new staff.

We went here after a basketball game and my papaw had a bone in his chicken, the food was burnt, and the ladies were complaining about the cook. Our server was sweet and kept up on our things. But over all very bad food.

Although the “private” dining room isn’t actually private, yet doable for a party a total of 14. My food delicious and I didn’t hear complaints from others. My only disappointment was the ladies’ room. Certainly not updated since the 50s, 60s, perhaps the 70s. The latch on door wasn’t easy to lock or unlocked…. No longer as vintage within as other areas. A little sad.

Chicken livers were burnt and cooked in old grease. Even my cats would not eat them.

They don't even deserve one star service is awful when you get home with your dinner it's burnt and they are not open the hours they post manager sits on his butt and no one is in a hurry but the customers

You'll find very good food in a traditional, old landmarkish atmosphere at the top of the hill in old town Evansville. The meatloaf was outstanding and the homemade au gratin potatoes were ok. Service was excellent and attentive. The parking lot is dirt and gravel and a bit dusty on a dry summers day if that matters to you. We really like this restaurant that states they have been in business since 1839! We'll be back.

Absolutely wonderful! Great food and portions. Only thing got wrong was we ordered a double burger and got a single. They made it right and it was not the waitresses fault. Other then that great visit!
