“09/14/2025 Today all the food was extremely salty, I waited so long for the dressing couldn't eat them. This is my second time having their dinner 1st time the food was on point.”

“Visiting the area and family wanted us to try their brews as one of their favorites. Tried a flight of 10 beers and favs were Tangerine Trackstar, Toxic Words, Lucifer in a haze, Immoveable King, Nuban overlord and the top one Here comes the reaper. We also had the Pretzel and queso for snacks. They were very good and fast. They also had ice tea which is not always available at breweries. I will say the art work gave me pause and some of the names being a Christian but I don't know the background to comment.”

Their mild sauce goes great with the shrimp. If you want a little spice, get the hot one and mix them up. I always get a pound of shrimp so I will have some now, and later.”

“A very clean bar. I didn't eat anything there or even know if they have a kitchen. The bartender was very nice and outgoing. The crowd was like an after work crowd. We were meeting friends there to go to a ball game. Had a great time, the time we were there. I would go again.”

“The joy I feel when I go to Home Plate Pub is indescribable! The bartenders are the friendliest and most efficient in all The Ville! The quality of the coke has gone down a bit, but the patrons that frequent Home Plate are some of the finest people that you’ll ever meet. The only other bar in Hessville that was FAR SUPERIOR the Home Plate was Brothers II, and sadly that fine establishment is no longer in business! RIP RON & SUE”

There are only a 4 tables to seat and eat, and if they are full, you just have to stand and wait for your turn. Very homemade meal. Recommend for those who are looking for authentic Mexican atmosphere and food.”

“This bar is one of many on the stretch of Kennedy Ave north of 165th street and south of the highway. Truly one of the last of its kind and feels like a time capsule walking into it. Friendly staff and cheap drinks, along with pool and darts. Can’t ask for a better dive bar.”

“The food was okay I say okay because it's spilled all over my bag it's just bigger than a hole in a while but nice little place nice service price is just a little above average but they only take cash that was a big surprise to me and there is no real parking lot the way it's set up it's next door to a chicken joint that's closed down but two to three cars at the most to fit at the actual Mexican restaurant I just parked right in front of the door but there was only one other car there and I don't know if he weather customer or the owner cuz he was sitting at a table but I don't know if you're in the area and you looking for some good Mexican food try them out”
