El Capitan offers excellent seafood and fabulous appetizers in a good atmosphere. While the skirt steak was overcooked, the service by Server Carlos was top-notch. The cocktails are delicious, and the portions are generous. Despite being more TexMex than authentic Mexican, the food is still amazing. The restaurant is worth the drive, as the drinks are also delicious. However, the gnat problem and automatic 15% gratuity on all checks may be off-putting to some customers.
