“Delicious food, nice atmosphere, and fantastic wait staff! (very attentive, but not hovering... perfect!) My Seafood Pasta was spicy & soooo good!! (I had to use a shot of lemon juice to keep my lips from burning, but I loved everything about it!! 😁😘) The strawberry margaritas were so good. We ordered drinks, was going to order an app but he took off. Brought back the drinks with the exception of my beer. After another 2 or 3 minutes while we watched our server clean tables and go in the back in the kitchen a few times we thought eventually he was on his way to get my beer. Nope around the corner on the other side wiping down tables. Decided to go across the street and spend my money. Ordering in advance was super easy and the staff and management was super accommodating of vegetarian and allergy orders. So many options to choose from. Pick up no problem either as our order was ready and not one item wrong or missing. It is often hard to find a place to order so early as we had a 9 am start time. We highly recommend The Country Cafe... West Lafayette. We will be back again~”

“I used to go to the Checkerboard to hear a deejay on Friday and Saturday nights. A father and son duo alternated nights. One was "DJ Bubba" and the other was "Doctor Chicago." They played oldies and it was a great atmosphere. This was around the turn of the century. I recently went back after being away and it's still a great place to relax. No more oldies I guess, and that's a shame. Oh, for the old days.”

The decor is really unusual with so many different things to look at.
The best I think is the backyard or the outside area with two fire pits inside a privacy fence.
You go out there and you can sit outside and everybody comes out there and sits by the fire and talk and meet people.
Atmosphere is great I didn't get the chance to eat food, that I was told by many people that the food is excellent there, and I am going to have to try it.
Food and drink, I noticed, were a little bit on the pricey side, but it must be well worth it, or people wouldn't come back.
There seems to be a lot of people that do come back.
I definitely would recommend, "The Spot" to everyone!!!!”

They don't have any lunch time specials, so expect to pay dinner prices all day. Atmosphere is plain, service was sort of slow at times, but you won't be disappointed with the food.”

Our table was decorated so nice!! Our food was hot and delicious! One of the managers, Michael, made sure we had everything we needed and everything was tasting right! “I called and ordered pork lo mein. The lady that answered was very nice. I was quoted 10 mins and when I got there it was ready. The lady that was there was very nice. The pork lo mein is a solid 4. It was nice and hot. A little over 11$ for a large order. Im not sure if this was their best version, or a busy friday night version but I would order again.

“I ordered for "to go" as I was in Lafayette and live in Zionsville. I typically love this location, but they missed the mark this time. Ordered 3 JRs and lg pizza. Pizza was GREAT! Salads, not so much. Ordered salads without onion, radish and croutons. They did well with croutons and radish, but all 3 got quite a lot of green onion and the lettuce was really wilted. There was no saving the three salads. Of course, I was too far away to rectify at time of discovery. Should not have to think of things like that when ordering take ourt, but I guess you really do.”
