Super cute and homey ambiance, exactly what I want from a bakery. Great prices and the spinach feta croissant was delicious. They were also willing to give me some of their sourdough starter. Great experience, definitely recommend

Best bakery in town. The savory croissants are delicious, the service is great. I always stop here for bread, or a treat. It is a little hard to park, but so worth it. Be sure to get there early, because they sell out quick! Never had a bad experience.Parking: Small lot next to bakery, right off 4th street

Yes, the reviews are right. The bread truly is that good. This place was on my list when I first moved to Lafayette and I was excited to visit. Fast forward to now and I've tried most of their bread varieties and enjoyed all of them.* They have different breads on the menu for each day of the week so keep that in mind when planning your visit.* They sometimes have day old pastries that are 50% off. (Brownies, morning buns, etc.)* They sometimes also have a basket of day old bread, sitting on the table across from the counter.* The breads mostly have a little sour taste and aren't very sweet so if you're used to grocery store bread, it might be a little different. But I promise, Smitty Bread is so much better. Very filling too.* Other than bread, they sell pretzels, savory baked goods and pastries. The pastries are also delicious. (Brownies, morning buns and chocolate croissants are my favorite)* Staff is friendly and patiently explains different items if you ask them.* They sell out fast on some days so call ahead to check that your favorite loaf is available. The Olive bread is my favorite here and they are another reason to get excited for Friday's.Tip that no one asked for: Smitty Bread Olive bread with Taco Bell hot sauce.Thank me later.

I suggest you go here every week, load up on sourdough, some morning pastries and leave with a pretzel to be consumed on the drive home.

Made a bunch of sandwiches before a Purdue game. The baguettes were THE bomb! Piled high with cold cuts, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, peppers, olives, oregano, salt, pepper and Italian dressing. The baguette was super crusty which made it pair oh so well with the dressing. Crispy on the outside with a burst of flavors from the inside. Lady working registers was super helpful picking out a good loaf. Walk up counter made it easy to order. Very chill. All take and go.

Everything in the bakery is delicious I didn’t even know where to start. Good stuff.

Awesome sourdough bread, great pastry, and coffee. Family owned and run. Strong counter service, even when busy. Other yummies include almond croissants, spinach and feta danish and swirl pumpernickel. Smitty's dad ran the best grocery in West Lafayette FOREVER! It is so reassuring in these troubled times to see family traditions exist and flourish in Lafayette Indiana! Highly recommended.Cynthia, Lafayette
