This is a great little independent coffee shop right on the main road through downtown Madison, Indiana. We stopped to pick up two coffees and split a sandwich for lunch while visiting some antique malls on a Sunday. We did carryout but the place was filled with conversation and young people at work on the internet. The staff were very helpful and the food hit the spot on a cold afternoon. Convenient parking for pickup right in front. Nice place!

The coffee is way too strong and there isn’t enough flavors to pick from.

Came here since the coffee shop I wanted to go to was closed. Atmosphere was cool, really liked the vibes of the place… until I placed my order. Got my latte rather quickly, took a sip and asked for a little more milk because it was too strong for my preference. Male barista got more milk for me but wasn’t happy about it. I kindly mentioned I had ordered a muffin too just thinking they had forgot, no big deal. He said it would be right out - which I found odd since they’re in the front display case. About 3-5 minutes later my muffin was brought out warmed after I had asked for it not to be when they asked me if I wanted it warmed while taking my order. I told the girl at the register I didn’t ask for it to be warmed, she wasn’t happy, male barista definitely wasn’t happy; honestly I frequent coffee shops everywhere I go and I’ve never been to a coffee shop where staff have attitudes when you ask for an extra splash of milk or to simply correct their mistake on your order?Really hoped this just might be an off day and but after reading through the reviews this seems to be the norm here. Smile and do better. Two stars cause the muffin was good. Coffee was mediocre and had a gritty texture.

The Red Roaster is a Madison staple for a reason. Rich and the staff are wonderful humans who aim to make every order a pleasant, personal experience. We are regulars and are treated like family. We consider all the staff our dear friends. The espresso is always delicious and pulled in a way that expresses the delicious undertones of the bean. Stop by and you won't be disappointed. We love those folks!

The staff is young, they made a mistake with our hot cocoa, and forgot part of my order but it was fixed when I brought it to their attention. Not a big deal, I'll go back?

I got the peppermint white mocha and a cinnamon carmel muffin. The mocha was amazing and the muffin was to die for. The service was quick and polite, and the interior is very cute "coffee shop" aesthetic. Enjoyed the small town location and the food was superb. Will definitely be going back!

Better than Starbucks. They have a manager who understands customer service and quality.

I will start by saying if I had only bought a coffee I would give this place 5 stars. The latte was a 5. The food though is over priced for what you get. Good but not a 9 dollar sandwich. Food was a 3. So I think a 4 is a worthy rating.

Very nice atmosphere, definitely appeals to a young 20’s/ college-age crowd. The pumpkin latte was a 10/10! The sandwich was okay but basically an over-priced deli sandwich. The staff … not friendly at all. Borderline dismissive and rude.

Pumpkin latte was so good. It didn’t taste much coffee though but the pumpkin flavor was yummy.

Hands down THE Best coffee establishment I've ever been to. I've tried the others in town and when I travel I check out others. But nothing stacks up to Red Roaster! The food is great as well. My kids and I love The Classic. But I've also gotten many times several items on the breakfast menu. You won't be disappointed. They have a line sometimes but that's only because they are the best.
