I really hate to leave a review like this, 1.) because it’s going to be a novel for sure and 2.) I was genuinely so excited to visit here after having not been for a long period of time.Today my friends and I decided to stop in to have brunch and catch up. Upon first arriving we were greeted by our server, Andrew, who sat us and jokingly made a comment about “talking down” his co-worker who was heading to seat us when we first arrived. When we got to our table, I said to Andrew, who had mentioned he was grabbing waters, “And I think we would maybe like some coffee as well, just so you know!” He very quickly interrupted me, and proceeded to tell me he was “going to get to that” and to “please let [him] do [his] job”. He said I just needed to “sit down” and allow him to do that. I proceeded to apologize and explain that I also serve, and I was just mentioning it in case it was more convenient for him to grab it with the waters. Before I could finish explaining myself, he proceeded to interrupt me and say that I “must be the boss of the group” and made several comments regarding this.I was very taken aback, as this felt rather passive aggressive, and so I quickly left the table to go greet some friends I had seen at another table. Upon returning to the table, I see our server at the bar with a co-worker. The bar is probably about 5-6 feet from our table, and so I was able to hear Andrew explain our interaction to his co-worker as well as give a description of me, to which his co-worker then turned and looked at our table and we made eye contact. It was… awkward and very uncomfortable to say the least. There were other comments made following this, including Andrew asking if I was old enough to order Bailey’s for my coffee so I could “calm my nerves”.At this point, I was so uncomfortable that I became very anxious and tearful. I felt like I had committed a serious atrocity at this point, when I genuinely came from a place of trying to be considerate. I mean, it’s… coffee? Regardless, I was unable to focus on deciding what to order, and my friends vouched that we dip. So, we decided to politely say we had a personal emergency, and asked for our coffees we had ordered to go and the check. Andrew said he was sorry to hear about our emergency, and then proceeded to say “Well, if you didn’t like me that much you could say that” in a joking tone of voice. We cashed out, and then Andrew said “I better not see any bad reviews about this!” Jokingly. So, Andrew, I’m sorry but - here’s the bad review. The food looked awesome, the atmosphere was so relaxing, and I think that had I not asked for coffee when we were getting sat, it could have been a wonderful experience. Miscommunication happens, absolutely, and I have encountered some blatantly rude customers in my day. However, I genuinely did not mean to come across as a rude customer, I genuinely was trying to help the guy out lol

Great ambiance with well-spaced, whimsical, and expressive art pieces. The shrimp and grits bowl was a fusion of gumbo with the increasingly common low country shrimp and grits staple. The lemon souffle pancakes were light and bursting with delicate flavors of lemon, vanilla, and bluberry. The Monte Cristo sandwich is a sweet and savory blend of ham, swiss cheese, and orange marmalade with french toast. Breakfast beverage choices are plentiful and delightful. Service is excellent. Detour through New Albany before searching Louisville for an epic breakfast experience!

We were visiting Louisville, KY, and my friend was looking for a place for us to have breakfast. She gave me the address for this place and I thought it was fun that we could go to another state by just crossing the river. :-)The menu had great options. It was very hard to choose. My friend had the pancakes with berries and aí had an omelette. It was delicious! Our waiter, KJ, was excellent! I loved his handwriting and signature, when he left a small "Thank you!" on the check. Super cool!We got to walk around a bit afterwards and the neighborhood has such a cool vibe.We had a great time!

Great food and service! Not a bad seat in the house. Coffee is excellent and eggs are farm to table fresh!

I had breakfast the other day at Toast on Market. Kinda of a split decision. Service was slow even though there were only a few people at two tables. The menu is very limited. They have biscuits and gravy but you can't order a biscuit ala carte. Potato casserole but no hash browns. The potato casserole is made with chicken broth, I don't get it, but thanks to the server for telling me. My wife had lemon pancakes with blueberries, they were good, I had eggs and grits, eggs were ordered over medium, came runny, the cheese grits were terrible,I truly couldn't tell they were grits, they looked like mashed potatoes, the cheese on top was old . I can't think of a reason to go back. Better ambiance than the Waffle House, but Waffle House is way better and half the price. I would've given two stars but it such a disappointing experience that I can't give any more.

First visit. We'll definitely be back. Got here about 10AM on a Sunday morning, hoping it wasn't mobbed. It was busy, but we were seated immediately. Friendly, quick, and attentive service throughout our visit. So many great menu options it was hard to decide. My partner's fritatta was eggsellent (couldn't resist). I had the tofu scramble and loved it. The side greens were very nicely dressed. A few nearby tables had some items of interest that looked delectable. The omelets and blackberry stuffed french toast in particular. Can't wait to explore the menu. Prices were consistent with all the other Sunday breakfast/brunch options in the area.

Toast is our favorite place to have breakfast in Southern Indiana. We have been going to Toast for years, first to the Louisville location (now closed), then to the New Albany location on Market St. There are so many good things to choose from that it's hard to name a favorite. The omelets are plump and fluffy and absolutely delightful. The Bananas Foster French Toast is so good that it's almost beyond description: French Toast filled with soft, cooked bananas, dripping with butterscotch sauce and topped with whipped cream. I do believe it's my all-time favorite. But then, I am also partial to the biscuits and gravy with chorizo gravy. If you like chorizo, this is about the best breakfast you'll ever have. The lemon-ricotta-blueberry pancakes are also heavenly. Finally, the Monte Cristo French Toast, which is ham and cheese stuffed into French Toast and served with an orange marmalade sauce, was the first thing I ever ordered at Toast and is still a perennial favorite. It's difficult for me to write this review without drooling. They also offer delicious daily specials, which usually are written on the blackboard near the entrance but, if you forget to read them or don't see them up there, make sure to ask your server. The service at Toast is always friendly and helpful. Toast has warm and cozy decor, with walls painted the color of, not surprisingly, toast, and exposed brick. There is also edgy modern art that gives the place a funky vibe. Often, there is a wait to get into Toast on busy weekend mornings, but they will do their best to seat you as quickly as they can and, believe me, Toast is worth the wait!

Ambiance is nice, food was great and service was awesome. Definitely recommend for breakfast or brunch. The special drinks for hangovers was amazing.

The owner's niece or daughter was the host and our server. I have been to Toast a few times before but today's service was the worst I have ever had. Our server was so busy doing everything that she never checked on us. We either had to stop our server or ask for drinks when she was delivering food. We saw multiple people leave due to the bad service.

Man we were really excited to try this place based off of all the great reviews. Our experience was just far from that. And honestly, I wouldn’t even bother to write this review had the host not spoken so rudely to my friend. It was a long wait, which we understood because it’s Sunday brunch time, but don’t be rude. Kevin walked up to the host stand, made eye contact and said “hello”, then looked down at his iPad. My friend responded with a greeting, waited then said gave her name and the number in the party, not rudely or matter of factly, just interacting with the HOST. Without hesitation he responded snarkily, “I’m not talking to you yet.”. Then he seated a party that came after us, who confirmed with him they did not have a reservation/had not been spoken too to get on the waitlist. Once they were seated, he made a point to prep another table for a party of six that came in after us. Finally he took us back after we mentioned to a waitress that we were ahead of them, and then set our table up right then. Kevin alone would make us not want to come back. The food was sub par, totally opposite of the mouth watering menu descriptions. Like things were poorly heated up in a microwave after being bought pre-made from Kroger. The only good thing was the bananas foster cold brew, and that ticket got lost in all the chaos so it was a long wait for that.So maybe it was a bad day. But the rude interaction (and that’s a g-rated description) from the host is unacceptable. Maybe we will try it again on a slower day, maybe the establishment will operate better on a slower day in regards to the rest of the staff/back of house. But as far as today’s experience goes, I would not recommend this place. Now Brooklyn and the Butcher right across the street? YUM and exceptional service to boot. Those chicken and waffles were to die for.P.S. - clean your grill. Gross.

Man my disappointment was palpable. So excited to take my husband to one of my favorite spots. My food was cold, his food wasn't what he ordered and instead of just saying sorry the server intimated he ordered incorrectly. He didn't seem genuine, and honestly it felt snarky.

The food is great?. The service is as well.At times this place can be busy and this makes it harder to have a conversation due to the noise.
