Country Diner is a real gem. Great home cooked food from 6am to 1:30pm. The hand breaded tenderloin sandwich was large and meaty. Daily specials like beef manhattan, beans ham cornbread with fried potatoes, chicken and noodles, and great breakfast choices. Plenty of parking with room for semi's and right off the highway. Typically very busy, we arrived at 12:45 and had excellent service.

We used to really like going here for breakfast. Then it started taking longer and longer to get waited on and to get our food.The last time in in took 15 minutes to get waited on. We waited another half hour for our food.Then the power went out and we found out that they hadn't even started on our food yet.Need less to say we haven't been back since.We thought it was a really nice place but I'm not going to wait over an hour for a simple breakfast.

We stopped here on our way home for lunch. They were almost full. Tables full as well as the counter area. We found a table and I had ordered the daily special that day, the pollock meal. It came with 2 pieces of fish, fries & slaw. The other .eat ordered for us was a chef salad. It was so big, we each shared our meal. So we each had fish, fries & half a chef salad. The slaw we took home cause by the time we split both meals, we were Full! The carrots cake looked very tempting but we were both so full, we had to pass the cake. The service was spot on. Our waitress was very attentive so our drinks never was dry. I have heard good things about this place & I must say all the comments I had heard were correct! We will be going back again. ? Give this place a try, I'm glad we did!

We had a late breakfast before the new Godzilla ? at the nearby AMC. We pick it out based on reviews and being a non-chain establishment. Food and service was awesome… Biscuits and gravy w 2 eggs over medium and sausage w coffee!

Me and my boyfriend moved back to Indiana from San Antonio about a year ago. We live in Shelbyville and we were told about this place while eating dinner at a Mexican Restaurant one evening. We decided to check it out for breakfast. It was delicious, and we've eaten there a few times since and always have a great experience. We both have been wanting to try some of their lunch specials, but we work and can't get there to check it out. We were off today and decided to go there for lunch because they were having chicken and noodles, and that's one of my favorite meals. It did not disappoint at all. My boyfriend and I both enjoyed our meals and even ordered seconds to go, so we could have it for dinner. The chicken and noodles came with mashed potatoes, corn or green beans, and a roll. You could definitely tell the food was homemade too. Delicious! The Farmhouse Diner isn't a very big restaurant and can get pretty busy. It reminds me of a little country diner where all the local farmers and their wives go to eat breakfast and lunch. The staff is always super friendly and attentive too. We will definitely be going back.

Great food at great prices! First, the Country Diner is also known as the Farmhouse Diner on Google maps. Great homemade food & fast & friendly service even though they were busy. We ordered country fried steak with mashed potatoes & gravy & onion rings. Delish! Also had French toast with crispy bacon. Relatively limited menu but high quality homemade food! Prices seem to be frozen in time from years ago. Atmosphere is not fancy, but clean & friendly. An undisturbed slice of rural Americana at it’s best. Enjoy!
