What a wonder bbq place. The food was amazing! I ordered the blue velvet with cole slaw and corn bread. It was heaven sent and all homemade! Jason and staff are amazing!
I’ve been barbecue comparison dining for about a year. This is the best I’ve found in NWI out of six places so far. And I’ve been back to this one a couple more times. The cornbread and coleslaw were excellent too. Really good.There’s only a few tables. So you’re not going there for the ambience, just for the food.
Prime Smoked Meats definitely knows how to smoke a brisket. The meat was flavorful and had a smoke flavor. The sidewinder fries had good seasoning and a great crunch. Dipping in liquid gold (cheese sauce) was a nice touch. The coleslaw had a good flavor and good crunch. White bread, pickles, and onions are available on the side. Drink options are canned sodas and bottled water. There are lots of interesting sounding sandwiches available too. Service was good. The dining area is small but had a variety of seating options. Overall I liked it. My only dislikes were just personal preference. I prefer a sweeter, less vinegary bbq sauce, and I like a finer cut on my cabbage in coleslaw.

The best BBQ spot I’ve ever had. Their Chief Beef is always my go to, and it never disappoints. And don’t you dare forget to get the corn bread as well….absolutely amazing. The service here is also amazing, they always ask you how your days going, and check up on you while you’re eating. They make you feel at home.

If you are looking for amazing BBQ, stop searching and head to Prime Smoke Meats. We have been here many times and it keeps getting better with every visit. The flavor profile and overall smoked BBQ taste that Jason creates on the daily is top tier!!! Tots, Slaw, and Cornbread just make the meal that much better.
