First time trying this place and we were pleasantly surprised how good the food was. Looks like we found a new place to stop for dinner and a drink.

The food was hot and fresh! Tasted amazing as well. A good selection of beers on tap.

The nachos were excellent, otherwise the food was just satisfactory. The atmosphere felt a bit off. It was difficult to get service from our server. There was a tall dark haired woman that kept yelling at the server. Very strange ambiance that put a sour taste in my mouth. Won't be back.

Wait staff was very accommodating as a group of 8 came in for drinks as they were starting to prepare to close. They took care of us and drinks were tasty!

We have been here twice in three weeks and empty tables in the restaurant and they want you to stand and wait for 15 minutes because they don't have enough of help. That's fine they are short staffed and we asked twice just go ahead and seat us and we will wait and both times they refused. You are not the only restaurant around here and I'll always discourage people from going there to stand in the doorway. Your manager on duty needs more experience in her people skills and she is lucky she didn't get lowered a notch or two.

Some really good eats and great beer. While the beer selection isn't 100 beers, it is still a well though out selection of all around beer tastes. The food is great with low carb and vegan options.

We had not been to The Local in a while but it always used to be super busy and the food was consistently really good. Sadly this visit was a huge disappointment. It was quite empty for a Friday night, the food was marginal, and the service was just ok. The chicken and noodles was beyond bland with no depth of flavor or seasoning and it was a very small portion for a hefty price. The shrimp Po boy was so salty we left half of it uneaten. It could have been greatly enhanced by a tangy remoulade and much less salty batter. We'll try The Local again in a few months with our fingers crossed that this experience was just a single bad night.

The Local has been one of our favorites since we moved to Hamilton County 10 years ago. My wife had surgery last Fall so we hadn't been there for a few months. Evidently, the restaurant has a new owener who is dismantling the unique characteristics that have provided the unique charm we enjoy. However, we can ignore the menu holders for the paper menus that reminded you that you might find a new gem on the menu. Also, the strangeness of having butcher block paper on top of cloth tablecloths. This place doesn't know what it is anymore. I could ignore all that if the food was its normal high quality. I ordered the pork tenderloin, which has always been delicious. Rather that being served on a plate it was served in a paper lined plastic basket like you might get at a fast food restaurant. Unfortunately, it also tasted like fast food quality. This no longer feels like the unique farm to table restaurant we loved so much. It seems to be moving to the generic kind of place that sells a $15 hamburger. I don't know if we will be back to give another try and I am sure we will not be taking our out of town visitors there as we have in the past.

The bartender was low energy in a off putting way. Stood at the host station for about 5 minutes before we seated ourselves at the bar. The staff was talking to each other and didn't really acknowledge us... the food was not that good for the price ?

We‘ve been regulars over the years and recommended this place to friends, but hadn’t been in a while until today. We sat for 15 minutes before anyone took our drink order and waited another 10 to order food. We received the smoked salmon dip which was very good, until I pulled a long HAIR out of it. The server apologized and didn’t charge for it. The main course was fried chicken fingers that tasted like burnt batter. The tater tots were flavorless and over-fried to the point they were visually unappealing. I ordered my usual, chicken gyro, but instead of thinly sliced chicken it was some sort of processed chicken molded into a thin patty with barely any other topping that makes a gyro. The fries were flavorless, I would have preferred the cheap frozen bags you can make at home.Overall this was a huge disappointment and we’re sad to be permanently removing this place from our list, while warning others of the obvious decline.

Out story: We were looking for a quick Sunday-after-church. We are foodies and steer away from chains for this meal. We didn't want the usual places we go. We decided to stop in at the Local. Luckily, they just restarted Sunday service. Their story: They just restarted Sunday service and have a very limited menu and staff. Our server told us that if there was something we wanted from the standard menu, she would see what they could do (time, ingredients, etc. - being a cook myself, I know sauces, etc. could be impossible...). They are in the process of addressing customer feedback (complaints) with concerns about noise level, etc. Since Sundays are slow, they had unfinished decorations and rolls of paper. They left us to eat and socialize and didn't work on these tasks in the front. The experience: we were the only people in, so service and sound level (a common complaint) were perfect. They have a wonderful drink and cocktail menu that is innovative. The mock tails are just as creative and enticing. The sandwiches and salads are the Local menu standards. No surprises for customers, so comfort for returnees looking for their favorites. The loaded tots have all the best on one tray. A real winner. The Ham and bean soup was good as well as the house salad. My husband was a little disappointed with the size of the patty in his lamb burger. The Bottom Line: we will return on Sunday. The food is good and not the usual Sunday brunch eggs and.pancakes (although they have beignets so you can go sweet if you wish and still enjoy something new). What I like about the Local is the opportunity to enjoy something different, and hopefully they can create that slice of special on the menu for Sunday.

Haven’t been in a while and went again recently. We had an underwhelming experience. Not terrible, just disappointing. $9 for 6 tiny jalapeño poppers (3 jalapeños) - it was pretty comical. The rest of the food was bland. No salt on the fries at all, or on any food for that matter. We’re all for cutting back on salt but really, the food needs some kind of seasoning. They seemed pretty understaffed and unhappy. Hope this place isn’t losing its character - we used to love coming here. I hope management can use this feedback; we will try again another time!

Went there today for the tenderloin sandwich to find out they have a reduced menu on Sunday's. That's fine and decided to try the loaded tots and wings. The loaded tots was HUGE but so bland and nothing was warm but the tots. The Mac and cheese and pulled pork were cold with a few spots being barely warm and it felt like I was eating old leftovers the were poorly attempted to be warmed up. The wings dry rub tasted like straight paprika. The fry on them was good but ruined by how much paprika was used. Server was nice but everything was slow especially considering we were one of 3 tables. We have enjoyed the local in the past but this kind of ruined it for us. We may try again after some time but definitely not on the reduced menu Sunday.
