I remember Mexican Inn very well and this place doesn't come close. Nothing is made to order. Not even the chips n salsa (which is just their taco sauce) The beef hard tacos were not fried in oil and were hard like they were heated up in a frying pan dry. What a shame and especially for what they charge. Also don't like eating out of a Styrofoam to go container.

Cute atmosphere. However The food is blah and quite pricey for what you do get. They do not have any extra vegetable options. No guacamole at the taco dive:(. They serve the beans and rice in styrofoam. Yikes! It’s not recyclable and just ends up in the landfill.I am from the region though and now live on the west coast where I am spoiled with good food options. Didn’t surprise me for the region.

Call at 2:24 to place a order. 4 hard beef. They say twenty minutes. I’m like twenty minutes what. I’m ok twenty minutes. Arrived at 2:43 doors locked. Should I wait? Are they open? Somebody opened door in five minutes. I come in pay for my order. And then I watch them. Now there going to start making it. I’m like you didn’t even start it yet? Ya we were busy. But you said twenty minutes? Gives me my money back and chased me out of there. I’m like this is the way you do business? Tells me to leave. It’s a DIVE alright……. I am a loud person. Wasn’t yelling. Actually my yelling is very loud. And I was talking to you not your employee. Your the one that didn’t like it when I said you’re starting my order now?? And what you don’t like your 2 customers hearing how you treat other customers?I should have left when I arrived to pick up my twenty minute order and the door was locked cause you weren’t open for business…..at 2:43 in the afternoon

While the menu may not be huge, the flavor certainly is! With ten of us dining in I think we tried just about everything on the menu and we were all extremely pleased with what we ate. The kid’s meals were adorable in a little special box with a toy. The decor and ambiance was great. It was a little confusing walking in not knowing if we should seat ourselves or that we had to head straight to the back to order and then sit, but we figured it out! Would definitely go back if I ever find myself in the area.Kid-friendliness: Kids meals were adorable!
If I could give this establishment zero stars I would. I have never felt so violated. Came in to eat and have a few drinks. Set my stuff down with my group at a table then got up to use the bathroom before ordering. The lady slammed the bathroom door on me, forcing the handle out of my hand and denied me entrance into the bathroom until I ordered. Never again will I patronize this place and I highly encourage you do not either. Forget decency and respect at this establishment.

So this is my first time here, these are the same people that owned the Mexican inn in South Chicago a place I used to go with my grandmother when I was a boy. Same food delicious! The owner was very cordial with the sweetheart Grandma style cook in the back who reminded me of my own grandmother. Great atmosphere here they do not serve liquor yet but they do have plenty of beers and they even serve the old school Mexican Coca-Cola that has the real sugar in it. This is a definite must see come check it out right on the corner easy access
